Definitely need the xmog system from WoW in some form here if they can make a version of it for ffxiv. We need the wardrobe system that games like Wow and Gw2 have. And we needed it like two expansions ago. But we don't know what kind of code they are dealing with. It could be impossible for them to implement something like that. But I agree with you the current system is terrible.
It was not intended as an argument, simply some steps to keep your inventory from ruining the game for you. Peace.

Bumping this thread since there have been some news since then:
With 6.2 the dev team announced 200 more slots in the glamour dresser, which I'm sure everyone is thrilled about (I have one inventory tab full of gear just waiting the big day...). But given the amount of glamour we're already getting this expansion (treasure maps, MSQ, bicolor gemstones, custom delivery rewards, and the weapon design contest winners will have to be implemented at some point) I fear those slots will be filled very fast... and there have been no news regarding the main topic of this thread: the Armoire.
I've also just noticed yet another inconsistency within the Armoire system: while the "... of the Luminary" tools you get from completing crafting and gathering achievements below lvl 50 are storable in the Armoire, the tools you get from the achievements above lvl 50 ("Blessed ...keep's", "Blessed ...king's" and "Resplendent") are not. As far as I'm aware this makes them the only equipable items you can only get through achievements that cannot be stored in the Armoire...
I edited the original post to add that extra bit.

Throwing my two cents in here. I think the mogstation items should be capable of being placed in the armoire. That would save a lot of room in the glamour dresser for items acquired in game.

The cynical side of me say they are not going to do that so that the player will be interested in buying more retainers. I mean, the person already spent some money on the mogshop, what's one more dollar a month? :^)
I always felt as if the existence of the armoire was convoluted and unnecessary. Not only are the armoire limits needlessly confusing, but you have to go through an extra step to add armoire items to glamour plates.
They should just remove the armoire completely and add its storage space to the regular dresser. With the upcoming storage increase this would give people 1200 spots in their dresser which I'm sure most people would be more than happy with.
