Sage's skill Pepsis is useless

I wouldn't say useless. It's just a bit more situational. It's useful in specific situations, like during those times when you really need burst heals or when you mistime your barriers.

I've used Pepsi's twice this entire Savage tier, during Curtain Call on prog. Debatable if it was even needed or if we'd have survived fine with plain prognosis. Sure there was high damage, but we're talking a 150 potency noodle heal.

Think of it this way, if they removed Pepsis tomorrow, would Sage's viability as a healer change even fractionally? Would there be anyone who was like "hm, I was leaning towards playing Sage over SCH but the Pepsis removal changed my mind".

You don't even need Diagnosis/Prognosis on regular basis, you are probably just doing Sage version of Medica 2 spam.

This person knows what they're talking about. Not to sound totally condescending but it makes me shake my head every time I see people say stuff like this. "I use *insert near totally useless spell* all the time. You're just not using it right.". "If healing in this game is boring, you're not healing right.". The truth is that in order to have the most fun healing in this game, you have to turn your brain off and not play optimally. I can't believe we're 4 expansions in and the devs haven't introduced active healing into the game.

I guess to clarify, i'm not saying that the ability is great and i would not be opposed to changes. I've only used it 3 or 4 times as well this entire expansion so i wouldn't even notice if they removed the ability.

no. all abilities can be utilized independently of each other throughout the gameplay of the class. diag/prog is primarily cure and adlo. pepsis to my mind works as a top off/alternatively can be used in place of prog for refill heals as prog doesn't always cut it in lower sync'd dungeons where pesis is available.. in those instances where you're brough to 1hp it's also a nice jump up without needing to spam part wide heals.

You have a wealth of other tools that are often available and don't even cost dps.
Note that generally don't need to top people off right away. WoL is an outlier but Zodiark may drop you to 1 HP but you have forever to heal everyone until the next aoe. No need for a single GCD there, from neither of the two healers. Raidwides have huge gaps between the, learning and understanding the fight will quickly show that the timeframe for healing is extremely generous.
Let regens do the work or wait for another oGCD to come off cooldown instead of healing right away. Unless you're constantly doing low level content where you have literally nothing else but Physis and Prog/ EProg, there is no reason to regularly use Pepsis/ EProg once you understood the fight.
And even these low level duties generally have so little partywide damage that just Physis is generally fine.

When even WHMs and SCHs avoids their Cure & Adlo whenever possible (outside lv sync reasons or utter clown fiesta), what makes people think SGEs will touch their Diagnosis, regular and Eukrasian?

The last time Pepsis made any lasting impression to me was when I had to solo heal TGC's Cleansing Slash in Orbonne (Co-WHM left and never had any healer replacement for the rest of the raid). Deploying E.Prognosis barrier before the Cleansing Slash hits basically turns Pepsis into additional 350p partywide oGCD heal for me to weave alongside Physis II, Swift+Zoe'd Prognosis, Ixochole, then regular Prognosis the remaining needed heals. Other than this particular niche situation & maybe SoS, I can't think of any other time I'll be needing that extra 50p partywide heal when just about everything in their arsenal has abundant heals attached. Plus, co-healer exist too.

So yes... Pepsis is technically not useless... but really close to being one in real practice.

I removed this ability from my hotbar at the beginning of the expansion and forgot about it. Haven't needed it in a SINGLE situation yet, not even dsr and I'm almost done with that fight.

I'm rather fond of Synastry. It sees way more usage than Pepsis for a certainty. The potency gain is very visible.
