Anyone saying that the placard spamming was better is going through some major Stockholm syndrome. That system was literal torture. I never understood why they couldn't just have the placard tell you when the plot is going to open for sale, just make the timer long enough that people can find out about the opening. Then people would know to be there and wouldn't be forced to spend their limited time not playing the game. Forcing people to spam a placard for possibly even 10s of hours was inhumane, actively encouraging people to bot it as what sane person would want to go through that willingly.

As for the new system, at least it doesn't force you to go through physical torture... but that doesn't mean it's good either. As everyone with a brain could and can tell, no amount of adding new wards is going to provide enough supply, there's been nothing but band-aids since the housing system came out and I'm right there with the rest of you saying that this needs to change and pretty damn fast. They've had so much time to implement a real fix but it seems like they just don't care, and it's getting very frustrating. They need to dedicate good time for this on a live letter and explain what they are going to do about it. I like the devs as much as the next girl but they NEED to address this.

Depends on your perspective. With placard spamming, people with a plethora of patience and free time had way better odds of getting a house then they do now with lottery. So for people who fit that bill, placard spamming was better.

They also have a way better chance at getting carpal tunnel syndrome. On more popular servers there were like 20 people on an empty plot at all times. It's terrible for mental health too stressing out about people showing up and your chances getting lower. And not knowing when the plot is going to open just encourages unhealthy behavior like staying up all night, as you keep thinking it's going to open soon, can't go to the bathroom because it'll be gone while you're away, can't go eat or get a drink. I can't believe people are out here defending that system. It might have given you a better chance at a plot if you're willing to sacrifice your time, health and sanity for it, but NO ONE should be made to go through that for a damn ingame house! At least with the current system you don't have to just sit there and spam a placard for 16 hours straight, you can actually you know, play the damn game.
