My Jarl I hope you are enjoying FF14.
My Jarl I hope you are enjoying FF14.
There's Tataru, if you count receptionists. Yugiri had a prominent role as well in previous stories.
But the main thing I feel from the writers is that they've pared down the number of main characters to something more manageable, with 1 spot being open for the expansion's guest character. Since Estinien took over for Ryne and Estinien famously hates working on a team, I wouldn't be surprised if he goes off to do his own thing sometime between now and 7.0, and someone fills that spot later. Shadowbringers seems to have stabilized and codified our main party since they introduced the Trust mechanic and I really don't see that going away or continuing with a full set of new people since progress carries over between expansions.
I would also prefer that if Scions get the axe, it'll be them happily (retiring with Runar and Ryne) doing good stuff elsewhere instead of getting killed off.
A few should stay. I like G’raha and Estinien. But maybe throw a male viera and a male au ra in the mix. I dislike roes so they wouldn’t be my choice of new scions.
The only ex-scions I'd like to keep around are G'raha and Alisaie. I'd like to see new members in the future, hopefully Au'ra, Viera, and/or Hroth.
"Outside obvious jokes/sarcasm, I aim to convey my words to the future readers who may come across mine posts. Can I change -your- mind, somehow? Potentially... but that's not why I'm writing. You and I have wrote our piece(s). We don't necessarily need to change each other's mind. But we can change other's."
Heck with it, I want Raubahn, Merlwyb, Aymeric, Hien, Lyse, Yugiri to join
I doubt they are actually disbanding just feel they don't want to get involved with grand companies anymore. still having a few scions in the new msq dungeon kind goes like it. I do think the scions should be more reserved about appearing or actively acting in the main quest right now.
the would be a interesting sidequest not gonna lie, tataru tie them in
reminder that arr y'shtola had tanned skin
I understand but most of these hyurs are no longer relevant, and about the how common these races are something they created and they can totally subverse that. (like i said i dont mind ali and alphy since they're are related to another character, these are all things they brought out from 1.0/arr but they could totally choose another aspects to bring like g'raha tia for example.Elezen are the 2nd most common race from Eorzea after Hyur so it's pretty natural they'd have a high presence. No one complained about or noticed Minfilia, Thancred, and Lyse all being Hyur. Alphinaud and Alisae are Elezen because their grandfather, Louisoix was an Elezen and they wanted to make new characters who connected to the old story. Estinien started as an edgy 1.0 job quest character and somehow got promoted over time from that to MSQ party member and then eventually Scion by virtue of happening to be an existing character with an existing story relating to the Dragonsong War and then after that, having been a prominent and popular character before so they brought him around again. Urianger... I pretend doesn't exist.
I mean, it's not like it's their job or something, like they totally don't get money from the indie company Sqaure Enix, riiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiight
Sorry I don't speak incel
you kind touches something I'm interested, like, i don't get why all scions need to be tagging along with the WoL all the time nowadays, like go live your life, make new friends I wish we would go back a little on the first expansion formulas wher eonly a few scions would actually tag you along in the expansion (alphy for hw and alisaie, alphy and lyse for Stb) I find it really weird that in SHB alphy, alisaie, y'shtola and urianger just abandon whatever they are doing to follow you, I do get thancred and ryne since they are runnign from the vaunthry army.I don't really care about them representing races in the Scions, but that particular organization definitely needs new blood. It feels like all their major arcs have already been closed, we really only have... what, 3 of them? With any semblance of adventure left?
And then there's Urianger.
we already have those!!! well tecanilly we have twice more than we have of the newer races
well, technically we have two since theres two tribes for each races and surely more other tribes from the new zones
I mean, if they did introduced a new hroth main character they would probably just use the same clothing for some time and change every odd expansion or so
I think it's moreso that the Scions cast haven't rly changed since ARR, Estinien is the exception to this but he's from Ishgard so it makes sense he's Elezen.
That said I'd like to see some more characters of the different races.
At the same time tho I'd also like to see an aged up Ryne join us lol, I think Alphinaud and Alisaie could be aged up a bit too.
I was gonna say that they been about 20 now we might seen it but remember that elezen are supposed to live long so unless we get some sort of time travel shenanigans its unlikely
yes, it almost half the main cast and more than a third, it's definitely very crowded
you're right, sometimes it's crazy but usually side characters have more personality possibly because the writer there have more freedom to write.
fiiiiiiiiiiiiiine I get it but the scions do need fresh from all those killing, an male au ra maybe? one that is not a real dragon is disguise the last au ra I remember being relevant is yugiri and maaaybe mikoto if you think hard enough.Short answer: Because everybody else died.
Long answer: Seriously, it's because everybody else DIED. There were even beast members. But the most NPC of the NPC's got eliminated each time the plot needed somebody to die. Sometimes one of the people removed was so popular, the complaint was so much that they got brought back. Least popular, dead, most popular alive.
Dragoon, popular, thus estinian stays.
Twins, popular, thus they stay.
Further now that it's the end all the most popular ones are getting highlights. Estinian ends up in trusts and in major plot events. Tataru gets an entire plotline. The twins get all the plot points around them resolved.
I just wish some of the scions would like, live their lives or something just make WoL and some new friends deal with the end of the world or something.
why is Urianger alive/relevant then...
can't say i did except for maybe froth and foam thing but I do hope they use the pretext of exploring the void/thirteen to make some development on her character, i'm kinda tired of her being the narky character that's too sexy to dieI do agree with LaylaTsarra that I was kind of hoping for a new cast for our new adventure.
The current small amount of hope I have is a cracktheory I have that Y'shtola will be swayed by the darkside and be the Kain-allusion to the Golbez-allusion this new villain is.
Was I the only one who got the vibes that they're building up to Y'shtola being willing to do anything to get her goals? (「ఠωఠ)「
there's a whole village of them go be horny with them, let other people enjoy thing too
but i'm general i'm kinda tired of having no relevant any au ra/hroth/viera in the team
that's why I think some of them should just make some exploration (aka being benched for a while) like thancred and urianger.Back on topic though, I don't think the problem with the Scions is that they need to expand, but more that they need to be defined. They're going to be rejoined (I forgot the word for "coming back together", this is the best I got .-.) eventually, so there might be an expansion of their numbers and diversity there.
But their previous purpose is done. The "Scions of the Seventh Dawn" are no more, because there isn't any further "Seventh Dawn" going around. They need a new purpose. And that is what will then allow for diversity, since then they'll be able to incorporate new characters better fit for their new adventure.
And possibly also retire the units that are already "done and over", like Thancred. I love the guy, and he's one of the few non-Miqo\Elezen in the group, but his arc is done, Endwalker hasn't given him anything new thus far, he really can just spend his time with Ryne once Y'shtola finds a safe way to the First.
shtola is busy with portals, the twins are helping the garleans (and I do hope this give some nice side content like doman enclave/ishgard restoration), raha and krile are doing something with the baldesians, estinien is estinien and tataru is doing shady bussiness, why the two just don't go to meracydia to travel as couple and send some postcards of their honeymoon between expasions and just comeback when meracydia is relevant.
yes that was something really annoying to me, we didn't need half the cast to do some exploring, shtola and estinien were just enough.
are tataru and krile a joke to you?
i'm not really saying they should get axed (well maybe thancred and urianger but like, go take some vacations or something you do have a point it would be bad writing but that exploring for gold in 6.1 was a good enough point to introduce new characters instead of bring some of the scions that should be doing something/had nothing to do with the plotRegarding the existing Scions I'm not fussed they are still around, it took us years to arrive at this point and having them all just axed overnight would be bad storytelling and jarring. It's much more fluid to just have existing Scions slowly fade back as new ones are introduced over an extended period. People are just so damn impatient ... "yaaarrgh thing I want must happen yesterday /tantrum".
