Good rant, people who don't like it can just scroll on by. Tired of these wannabe forum hall monitors acting like they have say over what game-related threads people can and can't post.
Housing in this game is a disgrace and a constant source of bitterness and disappointment for thousands of people. Square has had years to improve this system and they've managed to somehow make things bad in every iteration. I've simply given up on the housing side of things. After losing this recent lottery (even with ~80 plots made available, odds were still not favorable on balmung; an average was 1:16 for a small) I will just chill and hope that someday more wards open.

Balmung has no personals left. I think the only houses left are in a couple of FC-only wards, all smalls, and even then that was like... maybe 5, the last time I checked. All apartments are also full up afaik, so the only way to do much of anything on Balmung is get into a FC that already has a house to get a FC room for the time being. I have a house, I'm active and online a lot of the time, but I do think that they need to turn on auto-demos again. It doesn't help much on Balmung (lots of rpers have houses and they're on pretty constantly) but it may free up a couple houses there, a lot more most like on other servers. A couple of times some mediums had 500+ bids on them! The problem with being on a popular server ahah...

Hoping they get to adding to the housing servers sooner rather than later like they mentioned... I know the devs said after they upgrade and make new servers for playing on (the part 2 to what we're getting next month for NA and what we have gotten for JP and EU) they'd be upgrading those, but god I'd like them to hurry up lol.

That's the easiest way to own a house in this game.

Plus you will have access to subs etc.

I'd be more concerned about paying a $15 subscription exclusively for a feature that this game does less in depth than games with one-time purchase that turn out comparatively cheaper with no demolition stress.

Ton of houses on Materia. No probably whatsoever getting one or two if you want a FC as well.
