Yoshi P feels like the kind of man who would fake cry for sympathy to me.

As someone who has been playing since ARR, that crying thing really felt tasteless. You are the head of the dev team in front of a livestream, give the man some basic PR lessons! If the product is late then it's late, unless something really dumb happened (like telling the writers that the EW story was too dark and had them rewrite it) then it's okay if something is delayed a week or so. Those things happen in software and I would rather have something that feels complete over something rushed, lol.
I tend to feel the same. The devs aren't perfect by any means. They're humans and they can make mistakes.
But I played EverQuest and we had Brad McQuad, Smedley (who a lot of us liked as a person but as an official was crap), and Abashi (who we likened with a sock puppet given his responses) and when we asked for changes we got told it didn't fit "The Vision".
Give me the XIV devs any day.
I find it funny you bring up Smedly considering Yoshida is pulling the same things, lol.I tend to feel the same. The devs aren't perfect by any means. They're humans and they can make mistakes.

Dont forget more face options
for a year, would you rather be secretly filmed at random moments and have the footage uploaded to your social media or loose $100 when ever you said a curse word?
That sounds like good economics to me but that's the crux of the issue Yoship and the dev team get a budget and have to work within that budget. The whole point of an MMO is for the company to reinvest those profits into other projects and keep said MMO going with the least money possible.
I'll agree with you about Brad but all Yoshida has to do is introduce exp/gil/whatever boosting potions/mounts and game time into the cash shop and the transformation is complete. Smedly's "vision" is no different than what Yoshida believes how each class should play. For god's sake, he fired their in game healer tester because he was too good, lol! Believe me, if this game goes F2P then I could really see the devs introduce a system where f2p players can't equip blue and higher gear.
You don't get it. What he ask is being nice. You may think is positive to give criticism by directly insulting people. That's not how things work. In any moment he didn't say not to give feedback or criticism. Just asked for being polite, a thing very difficult, it seems.
Anyway, this forums is a lost case.

This. A thousand times this.
I hope Yoshida does not read the forum, he does not deserve that kind of message.
You should be shameful.
