It's a reasonable request. Just because you are upset about something doesn't mean that you shouldn't be polite. If you go to a restaurant and don't politely tell them the problem and instead swear at them a lot, they would probably ask you to leave.
In other news, there is no technical debt from 1.0.
"We don't have ... a technological issue that was carried over from 1.0, because ARR was meant to kind of discard what we had from 1.0 and rebuild it from the engine."

Wasn't that statement made in regards to people mailing knives to SE HQ? Or am I just remembering things wrong?
Either way, it doesn't matter how nicely you word your criticisms of this game, someone somewhere that isn't even tangentially related to the FFXIV dev team will either take offense to what was written, try to police you on tone, or outright attempt to silence you. I've seen more than enough of that in all sorts of topics, whether it be criticism over the state of Healers, the Hrothgar fiasco, or discussion of the MSQ.
In my opinion, as long as you aren't outright slinging hatred at the devs, to hell with what anybody else has to say.
He never stepped down though.

I think as far as developers go, he's a pretty reasonable person. His responses to various issues can sound a little tone deaf though. I'm all for polite, constructive criticism, and I don't think it is unreasonable for him to ask for exactly that. However, if an issue (or many issues) goes unaddressed for a long enough period of time, then I think it is completely understandable for people to lose their patience and adopt a harsher tone. Solution? Stop ignoring them and stop making excuses that no one buys anymore. Like someone said already, no one is above criticism. Not even him. That said, it could be worse. That doesn't make it okay, but it's true.

This wasn't a thing. Misinformation from someone who regularly spews random crap lol.

Ah, I haven't kept up with it but I had seen an image that showed changes to SE's board and Yoshi-P wasn't on it. It was a fake then?
Best part isn't the dev abuse thing, but the fact you can't criticize him at all or his rabid defenders come out to lick boots.
I hate that type of defender regardless of who they're defending though.
I am critical of Yoshi but more critical of SE. Take the reins off increase the games budget and let Yohsi go full HAM for a while..

Note: Taking advice from a players alt, is like taking advice from a voice in a dark room. Criticism is a two way street remember that!!
