Wow, it's almost like there are people learning to tank out there.
If it bothers you that much, you've got options, but the way I see it, it's someone likely learning the game. A little patience goes a long way.

That ceases to be an excuse when it's a lvl 90 dungeon. If you have not learned to tank by that point you either boosted (even than, you've had 10 levels to learn and it's really not hard at all, it's the most mindless role outside of certain higher end content where tanks actually have mechanics that are specific to them), or you're just bad. There's not really much to learn. You pull mobs, do your aoe rotation, maintain your mitigations, face away from the group, don't stand in mechanics, rinse and repeat. sometimes you have to interupt an enemy's ability. What is so complicated about this? The exact same strat applies to single groups not just multi-groups. Only difference is that multi-groups you may possibly die if you're not using your mitgations properly, or the healer is slow or afk. There is nothing fundamentally more challenging or complex about 1 group vs 2 group pulls. It is just a matter of how long do you want this run to take?

You learn to pull IN ARR already. No excuse not to pull more

some people skip ARR or HW or whatever with those skipping itens.
Others use only a role (mostly DPS) through initial content and then change for other roles at later stages of the game.
Some people feel less confortable or confident at some roles.
Some people have natural difficulties at games...
It's hard for us to just judge people without knowing their past experience. Instead, we should just be kind to them and try to help (just my opinion, everybody must do as they want). If they wont listen, well, we can just finish the whole thing just to forget after it or we just leave party and try to find another. Either way, the person will be there, at their own doing, playing like they want and can. They even wont notice if we are annoyed or not xD
As we say here in Brazil: "vida que segue" (means: "just leave it and go forward with your life"). Nobody needs to feel responsible for others actions. We just need to adapt, do our part and move forward.

How can you say this with a straight face? I finished Shadowbringers before I ever tanked. How does one *know* to pull more in ARR?
These days, tanking is my preferred role. Sometimes I pull to the wall and could pull more. It depends on the group. Sometimes if I pull more than a single pack, we wipe.
There is no rule or law that it has to be one way or another. it depends on the group.

Highly depends on which dungeon level we are talking about. Early ARR, sure. But if you're still single pulling by the time of heavensward you dont want to improve. Tanking is incredibily easy. The amount of buttons you have in AoE situations is exactly your aoe combo and your mitigation. Neither is rocket science.

too all those picking on tanks when you set up a party be sure the tank your picking is up to the job if not you should have a list of the good ones you can count on meaning a fc house should have its own list to choose from if your puging it goog luck
