I wish I was in that time period. I was always taught to hold up to 3 bases. At one point (during Stormblood) it was very rare to see the ABC strategy being used. Still, it was a year before a duo premade taught me how to properly play objectives in secure. These days I'll still play for multiple bases when people go mid for the nodes. I just dont commit as often since defense has went up across the board.

    ABC strategy?

Yeah, 4.3 to 4.56 was peak Secure. Less going back and forth between the two bases close to your home base, and longer engagements with other teams. Situations where all three teams were gathered at one point, that wasn't the middle of the map, was quite common. The map has no RNG so brute force reigned supreme, so to speak.

Actually, with the increased defense for everyone, I have experienced that people are more willing to engage an enemy team, even if they don't a clear number advantage. It's tanks going in and trying to bait enemy players so teammates can focus on enemy player at a time. And then the rest of your team realizes what's going on and joins the battle. It may become a stalemate but at least teams are fighting each other.
