Tbh tho if people are gonna complain about ToS breaking then maybe they shouldn't be engaging in blatant harassment ingame.
They run the risk of getting in trouble themselves.

It's alright to think whatever one want about it and laugh about it, but it's a different thing to actually start harassing people ingame or even irl ( I heard some of the people working for them who had nothing to do with the billboard got harassed ... ).

What is sad is people who RP those people are going to be thought of as sick freaks. RP used to mean role playing but at this point in FFXIV because EPRers have been allowed to somewhat operate until they get way to flagerant people think its all about erotic rp.

Sadly, if the major news networks catches on and this becomes a political issue there will be a crackdown in game on people who do not use add on or ERP and expect censorship and the people at fault will be those who enabled this. The ERPers kept pushing and pushing until they hit the line in the sand. I remember what it was like after the hot coffee scandal and it set video games back a couple years with games self censoring.

This is what I'm ultimately worried about. Dudes messed around and found out. But like a certain other hot topic issue in the US, certain people were quick to throw gaming into the discussion as a reason that bad stuff happends and others where quick to also throw morality as another issue with this point.

If certain people outside of the XiV community start connecting these parties to the +18 venues, it could just add fuel to the fire and make this a situation like r/antiwork. Extra points for doing it in Texas. I hope that I'm wrong and this just blows over.

Personally, I have no issue with RPers of most types. Never have for the most part, unless someone was genuinely weird or crossing some lines. This latest debacle doesn't really change that for me. If people want to ERP, that's their business. Have at it, I say, so long as it is between 2 consenting adults and behind closed doors. I'm content to watch this current dumpster fire from afar due to the absurdity of the situation. It is Darwinism in full display. Really wish I had some popcorn.
