I don't rp, but Balmung is my server. There are plenty of other people who don't like this influx of trolls either besides just the rpers. And even if I don't rp, if the rpers aren't bothering anyone else, why not let them be? Why must they be harassed for something they like to do and when they complain they are being harassed, told to get over it?

Plus, not to mention, the "bad rap" we get are actually from people from other servers. 90% of the erpers on Balmung are Wanderers or Travelers from other servers who want to just add to our "rap" and not their own server. It's like going to someone else's home and stinking up their bathroom and then telling everyone else that their home stinks...

There is a report player option built in the game. Nothing is stopping you from reporting them. At the end of the day Balmung got their reputation YEARS AGO long before data center travel was a thing. Then you just had members of Balmung's community do the stupidest thing ever to coincide with data center travel and buy those billboard ads. Your own community members actually created the flame to draw the moths, more so than the reputation Balmung has for being an RP server. You can avoid the congested zones, there are literally hundreds of other zones in game you can be in without being bothered by the temporary influx of travelers thanks to Rain Nightclub. Balmung does not deserve special privileges because of an increase in 2-3 city hubs in a game with multiple other maps and zones to get away from it.

If bobby want to play in as a character who is always in underwear, who are you to say he cant, why would your rp be more important than their totaly legitimate

I don’t think anyone is condoning what the trolls are doing, but your argument is a false equivalence.

Reporting or kicking a player from content for the reasons listed is a vastly different thing then coming to the forums demanding that an entire system most of the game’s community enjoys innocently enough be removed because of a few bad apples.

People arent screaming for extremes or savages to be removed or ultimates because some players arent living up to their standards.

So why is it okay to demand that this entire system get demolished because some people are abusing it?

Should we get rid of party finder? Fellowships? Hard content? Pvp? Shout chat?

Funny you say we can "avoid" the zones when one can only server hop in those said zones and/or turn in grand company items for seals there. If there is an alternative to that, please let me know. Or people like me replaying the game because I want to enjoy the story again and the quest takes me to Ul'dah and I can't even load in because of the influx? Sure a handful of people are over the top, that's just a given in most cases. But handful of people do not make the entire server. There may be less than 1000-500 people who rp vs the actual numbers of the server. I don't even know this nightclub thing and you talk like you expect everyone on the server are friends or are in cahoots with each other. We are not. So stop being so rude and dismissive just because your server isn't affected.

The issue is EVERYONE'S server is actually being affected because its a new toy to play with. You are acting like other servers and data centers didn't receive such a large influx yesterday that it literally broke it and people got stuck. Because that did happen. If you take issue with what's going on, file a report with SE, complaining here in the forums under the general discussion is not what get's SE's attention. You have to start reporting the trolls or file a complaint through SE's website channels for that type of stuff. But the likelihood they do ANYTHING is slim to none because the same thing happened when the world visit system came out and everything died down in literally a week.

And when did this "rap" start up? I started playing in 2013, so I was there long before any "rap" had been, so stop being so dismissive of the state of how the server has become. I didn't know I was supposed to have future vision when picking a server all those years ago. I have a shared house with a friend, am I supposed to lose it and move just because I don't like all the new people coming in and stinking up my home?
