Has not speciation before but now I actually happy about it. To me is better than housing or regular gardening and its something with a lot of self-contained potential.... now that the lack of housing and gardening as it exists in housing is confirmed?
Seems like all the ongoing conversation has disappeared since the Live Letter.
Personally, I think it will be fun for at least a few months based on what was shared. Looks like a good sized area to explore and it will be interesting to see what flexibility we have in building placement not to mention see how many options we're given for architecture styles.
Hard to predict longevity past the first few months because it would depend on what content updates it gets and how often new rewards get added. Once everything is upgraded and desired rewards purchased, it doesn't seem like something that would be worth continuing.
For those disappointed that time was spent to develop this over helping more players get access to houses/gardening, you may want to add your feedback and comments to this thread or one of the others in the Housing sibforum:

You're not the only ones disappointed but better to leave that feedback in a place that SE is more likely to look for it.

Ehhh? Not really? It sounds like one and done busy work content so far, Its really going to come down to how customizable this island is, but it sounds so segregated from the main game that I'm worried we're heading towards future abanonded content
Also shout outs to Squenix for keeping their trend of keeping problems and solutions to problems seperate by not just including a house on the thing.

I feel excited. From what I hear so far it is something I'll like to visit and play at![]()

I see the OF is being hyperbolic as usual
With the latest liveletter information it seems to me that Island Sanctuary is going to be the "Restoration of Ishgard" content for EW
but with the "Firmament" and "Diadem" rolled into one location and a little bit friendlier since it sounds like all the materials will get accumulated in a separate inventory now
the export mechanic they mentioned seems to me the logical place to insert Expert Recipes for EW in subsequent patches
now allow me to put on my tinfoil hat and get my hopium infusion set up
The restoration of ishgard happened over the course of Shadowbringers and it wasn't until Endwalker that the actual Imperium housing ward opened up
they leveraged additional hype for Imperium by getting players involved in an expansion long event
we're about to embark on an expansion long endeavor to develop/renovate an island getaway
they're banking on getting players invested to build hype in the next expansion for ???
*inhales hopium*
instance housing next expansion best case
another housing district worst case
Excited but also not sure what I'm excited about.
Also worried that it might be just a daily thing and not a big source of content.

We had lots of information about it in the live letter. It takes a lot of time to develop content. About a year.
In other news, there is no technical debt from 1.0.
"We don't have ... a technological issue that was carried over from 1.0, because ARR was meant to kind of discard what we had from 1.0 and rebuild it from the engine."

It does seem way more boring than I had hoped. Guess it will come down to how many people it is capped at and what kind of decorating can be done on it.
Because the questions have been answered as to what it entails. Housing had nothing to do with it, it is a new part of the game that looks like a nice casual, relaxing thing to do - as advertised.
Personally, I am still looking forward to it. We all knew not to have high expectations as Yoshi-P warned everyone about. Just because some chose to ignore his warning - well, that's on them.![]()
Yep, I am seeing people excited about it everywhere it's only on the forums I see the excessive negativity about literally everything at all times.
Some people seem to have built expectations by themselves for things that were never promised then get upset when those things don't happen.
I think to a great many people the Island Sanctuary will be a huge deal.
The same people on the forums tho will continue being madge about everything.
