Sure, they offer some other support arguments but they aren't really logical. Here is why:

1. Remove PL, add sync - Okay, this sounds like an okay idea however, without PL, you increase the time it takes for newer players to close the gap between established players. The idea that "if the option is there, people will" is the absurd slippery slope argument that people use on everything from guns to abortion to the right to do die. So far? Yeah, nothing severe has happened. It's a dated and disproved argument - if you fall back to this you are uneducated, weak-willed, and frightened.

2. Leave PL, add sync - Some people will PL and others will sync. I can tell you that I would gladly go back and sync to play with friends again. Others dread the idea of doing that. Either way, its a choice and one that ought not be revoked so people can maintain a "pure" stance. I PL friends right now and I've come across many people who decline to take part. Moreover, some people don't play these games to grind - they play them for endgame content. That also seems to be the trend for the MMO market right now. If you don't like that idea then don't be part of it. I don't see how creating a standard which drives away the growing player-base will aid anyone who is complaining about a lack of community - your logic actually fuels the fire!

Look, it sucks that some people aren't getting as much help as they want. I usually hop into parties that I see 7/8 if the /sh goes on for a while. And after I help, I simply ask they pay it forward and help others. Want to make the community better? Help others and reset the standard. At the same time, while crafting in Uldah last night before an LS event I say someone /sh bitching about the lack of community. They went on to /sh that they had been shouting for help on the 4th leg of the WAR quest for an almost an hour...at 12am CST. For starters, one hour of shouting is pretty weak for patience. Second, I understand some people can't play during primetime but that isn't the fault of community. Maybe your server sucks or maybe your expectations border on the idea of instant gratification.

My point is this: there are multiple facets to the community issues that people bring up. However, the answer is not to be intolerant and say "this is how it should be because I think it's lazy" but instead take a libertarian approach and allow people to make their own choice.

Remember - if your logic dictates that you think you deserve the right to make choices for others than you have to be willing to accept the same (others can make choices for you.) I think everyone can agree that this is a stupid train of thought.
You say there are no party s and that's why people PL but i see tons of PL groups get a full party. They could easily opt to kill stuff but they don't. The reason they are PL is not because there are no party's, because they are in a party, that's what I meant.
