Most fights in this game do not require a guide but specifically the NieR and Ivalice raids are another story. When people don't know what they are doing in these raids, they can take 3 times as long. Therefore I do not stay whenever they pop into my roulettes, regardless of how much I actually enjoyed their battle mechanics. I can only account for myself, not 23 other people.

I also dislike whenever I try to explain something only to be told to "let them figure it out on their own" when what I am trying to do is prevent unnecessary wipes. I do not have infinite time to spend wiping to content that I know how to do because someone else didn't want to read a guide or listen to an explanation. Whenever a group is holding me back like this on an Extreme fight I just leave. Same concept applies here.

Entering a dungeon or (alliance) raid or trial without having read a guide is what everyone does when it is new. It should be the normal case for players, not the exception.

Besides, at least for me reading or watching a guide beforehand won't help at all. I will not remember all the necessary details, and even if I do i will not recognize the situation in time to act on that knowledge.
Guides are what I turn to when I run into a mechanic I can't figure out on my own.

Unfortunately, it seems that many players in NA and EU do not care about other people’s time. The common sentiment is that:

This is you putting your own enjoyment over 7 other people’s enjoyment. It is what an individualistic and selfish culture promotes. Unfortunately, this will never change because it’s engrained in Western culture.
So don't play on servers with that way of doing things. Play on JP servers where you are happy. You have the option to totally avoid the objectionable behavior.

Meanwhile I've taken to slicing alliances in half with lasers in Puppet's Bunker and saying nothing in chat. Watching people have nuclear meltdowns in Alliance chat and trying to figure out who was responsible is my favorite pastime, especially if the stack marker lands on me a second time.

Unedited footage of Alliance B getting nuked out of existence btw.

Alliance Raids are casual content that can be done blind easily.

When I was newer I used to watch guides for the MSQ/Alliance, it made the game really unfun for me as it felt like I had to stop and study mechanics so often, plus going in blind was a better experience (even if I die).

With Ivalice and Nier, I just set aside more time for them lol. Sometimes I'll que into it intentionally, I don't really mind wiping and such though

Alliance Raids are story content meant to be done unspoiled.

it is not, it is perfectly understandable that someone would want to enter a duty without being spoiled. there's 24 people in there, 1 person not knowing the mechanics is unlikely to make much of a difference.

It's disrespectful to not to spoil the movie or a book without seeing it first. /OP
