Y'all need to touch grass if an MMO having a Maintenance is gonna ruin a holiday.

I guess I'll take my shower for the month...

No we don't and sometimes we essential workers don't even get Holiday pay for working these holidays either, I've worked in companies that have either not paid or have paid.
Side note: Even if I was off that day I wouldn't complain about the down time for the game cause I would be with family and probably would have bought all the fire works too lol.
I'd say do more than just tip them, don't be a douche period cause they have to work. Lol ^_^

I don't think anyone's really going for a "let's abuse American opinions" in this matter. The majority of Money goes through the USA or China, the Majority of FFXIV players are in North America. The US the 3rd highest Population, Largest Economy with China being neck and Neck.
I just get a bit tired of "lets abuse American opinions" on these forums. Close to half of the Player Base has the 4th off, it's a good time to have the servers running, as you want to encourage people playing. The 24 hour downtime for patches, can be annoying at any time, but try and time those when people don't have a massive holiday. And by Massive, the 4th is a holiday that affects a large portion of the player base, and most people (besides Retail Workers) have the day off.
I'd rather say that it's because more often than not it's Amaricans that complains when a maintenance becomes inconvenient and the majority, I would guess, is just feeling the "American entitlement" due to it.

There is always some local holiday somewhere. And there are many Independence Days - most of which aren't on the 4th of July. They can't take every foreign country into consideration.
But regardless, you are a couple of weeks too late. This kind of major maintenance is scheduled long in advance, involving many people. You don't reschedule that on short notice unless there is absolutely no choice.
Oh honey, I am American, that's why I'm getting on your case. We are not the world, we are not the most important people on the planet, and rather than just accept the fact that inconveniences happen, you're here like a Karen complaining. So knock it off, and do something else on the 4th, like the rest of us.I just get a bit tired of "lets abuse American opinions" on these forums. I was going back through forum history.. and in 2017 when maintenance was on the 3rd of July, the Americans also complained...

Thanks SE!!
I rarely get time off. I was looking forward to playing, yet you once again have hosed North America by not only performing maintenance during regular gaming hours but on a holiday night?! I know only Americans celebrate the 4th of July but isn't that the bulk of your customers besides Japan?
Crappy timing, SE.
やはり、お前は……笑顔が……イイ

"America is off work for the 4th"
American here, since when was that a thing? We are in an oligopoly and those workers won't browbeat themselves! Get to work America, your livelyhood depends on it!
