First and foremost that comes to mind is GW2. Each character is tagged with a database. That database has every single piece of gear in the game referenced in it. A listing becomes active (you can use the glam) if that particular piece of gear crosses your hands even just ONCE. Same thing is done with mat storage. Bank storage has a separate area for mat storage where every single material in the game has a slot. When you find a mat it can be put in the appropriate slot. Same thing with dyes. All dyes show up in the character's database but only those for which you have acquired that dye are active. Active dye slots means you can use that dye on the fly. No further purchase of that dye is necessary. Oh, and I forgot to mention that most if not all gear in GW2 is dyeable with many pieces having TWO separate dye channels.

If folks are offended or feel the devs are shrugging it off thats their own bit to sort out. Idk what it is but fun n jokes just don't land well in these particular forums and I've no idea why
It's not uncommon but it usually rubs a lot of people the wrong way. Probably because to a lot of us it feels like a very politician-like response. It feels like deflection.

It's a video game, you don't really want to see that kind of attitude. No one's saying you can't throw in a few jokes or be light hearted but when it comes to discussing something slightly more important that you don't want misinterpreted you should probably say things straight out.

Yeah, I think this is what it boils down to, really. Laughing and joking around about a feature that continues to disappoint players doesn't exactly earn them any respect. Not just about this, but about a few things recently. I'm not gonna open up another can of worms here, but I'm sure you're aware of what I'm talking about. But yeah, it's probably more of a knee-jerk reaction from the community (here, anyway, no idea how others feel elsewhere) than anything, but after certain failings with 6.1 I can see how this could be taken personally by some. Whether they are right to do so or not may be another story, but I can relate. Whether it was all in jest or not, it's not a good look.

800 is good enough for me for now when I have places store my collections of dozens of relic weapons/armors and I don't actively collect all glam.

However, the problem is not how limit the capacity of your glamor dress is, but how limit the access to some glam pieces. Not every piece can be regain, or regain easily once you throw them away, so you tend to hoard them, which lead to the problem of capacity.

Some glam pieces are a wrestle with RNG God, like gear from end-expansion dungeons and raid which offers you no viable way to regain the piece once you throw them away, making you hoard them to the bitter end because you don't want to do it ever again. Think of collecting Shisui set vs collecting Ivalice set. Shisui runs give you one extra piece of your role per run so you will like like get all of you want within less than 10 runs. Ivalice: hope you have the RNG to get the piece appear, and hope the RNG will favor you in case someone of same role also bid on that piece.

Some glam pieces are expensive, mainly crafted primal weapons that use materials from extreme raid.

Some glam pieces are a pain to grind. Compete for good rolls on raid-gear currencies. Doing Deep Dungeon...

Regarding relic, people don't want to throw away their hard-earned sparkie, even though you give them a replica with the same effect. Replica is, well, replica, which doesn't harbor the same feeling of pride of the genuine relics. So these clog up in dresser/inventories too.

Then you have store-bought glam pieces. You will definitely never want to throw any of the set away. Personally, my character never wear hat, but I don't throw away the hat from store-bought set. As these sets always come in 2-4 items (save for onesie like Alphanaud's outfits), if you're a frequent buyers, they will flock into your glam dresser fast.

If SE offers way to make players be able to regain their precious glam pieces, perhaps they will more willing to free up space in the dresser, thus less complaints. Like, there are people grind the heck out of Garo gear because they know once the things gone, it may take a long time for the event to come back. So they grind all the gear, and happy with the ability to rebuy the gear everytime, thus saving glam dresser space when they don't use them immediately.

Of course, going back and forth for glam is tiring, but better having players trying to fit every single piece into dresser and eventually lead to lack of slots, no matter how big you expand.

He's not being flippant, he stated exactly the fact the state of the so call "community". In fact the OP and this topic proved exactly his point.

Everyone in one of my Discords was joking that Yoshi-P had way too much faith in the community if he thought it would take 3 months and posting "No lies" memes, even though we'd all love to see an unlimited and more accessible system akin to WoW transmog.

The system was broken from it's inception since it doesn't resolve the issue that ultimately, our very own inventory is a constant enemy. For a lot of players, every time they log on they will have to decide what equipment they now have to throw away before they can enjoy the game.

Fashion is the true end-game in an mmo yet our own inventory is an enemy to that.

I also want them to change the glamour dresser because there should be no limit...yet I also understood that Yoshida was joking. I found nothing bad in that.
Its not like he said that we should not complain about it, just that we will. I take this as a sign that they might know that their system right now is not good.

So why should they not be able to joke about something like that? Since some players here are already attacking content that we barely have information about and that they had no chance to play since its not even out now...so if we dont even give them the chance on stuff that isnt out yet, then why should they not be allowed to joke a bit? Especially if there is some truth in it. Does not mean that we cant still demand a better system.

I am not sure we can compare the Hrothgar hair situation with this one. IMO the hrothgar one was a bit rude. They openly laughed about the look of some of the hairsytles which they decided on. This was a hit for all of those Hrothgar players that waited so long for new hair. It was also shown around the 01.04 so some still hoped that it was not the truth.

This time though its clear we will get the increase and the devs just made some jokes that it wont be enough. There is imo nothing rude about it.

So not sure why the hair situation is brought up with this case.

This is honestly the best option, just after an expansion or two make all the dungeon gear have a craftable (and dyable) alternative. They've done this on a few things (the skallic stuff for example)

Veteran healers don't care if we need to heal, but right now we don't. We want interesting things to do during the downtime other than a 30s dot and a single filler spell that hasn't changed from lvl 4 to lvl 90.
Dead DPS do no DPS. Raised DPS do 25/50% lower DPS. Do the mechanics and don't stand in bad stuff.
Other games expect basic competence, FFXIV is pleasantly surprised by it. Other games have toxic elitism. FFXIV has toxic casualism.[/LIST]
