Moving to OCE I was excited to learn the macros pf thing. Then I realised its actually exactly the same as NA, you just argue over which macro to use instead.

Sort of like spending time here on the forum no?
And seriously I hope they'll expand this to include all regions and not limit it. It's a start and I'm looking forward to have my alts visit my friends elsewhere. Sadly I don't think OCE will get any relief with respect to DC travel with this update.
I am not posting to complain but rather to voice the support of letting OCE region travel. I've been trying to clear Aglaia for a week. Every day, hours in the queue, it doesn't pop. I just want to pop over to NA, run my weekly, head back.

You know how bad that sounds right? Might as well put "JP ONRY" from 11 up.The game has many tools if you don't like playing with someone. Not your fault though, this just reinforces certain stereotypes of the JP player base and SE as a company.
Basically, JP uses Duty Finder for raiding, and NA have absolute meltdowns if they so much as catch the faintest whiff of a 'macro', so cross-region travel is likely going to be harder to implement on that basis.
Big doubt, since iirc the Japanese players couldn't stand English speakers on their DC in the first place. I'd bet money that a big motivating force behind Materia was to just get English speakers out of Japanese datacenters so they wouldn't have to see English in /say chat. Or, in the more diplomatic corporate phrasing, "there are different playing styles in each region."))
Either way, OCE really got done dirty.
You will have to wait like everyone else.
The issue in ARR was communication not nationality. If you couldn't communicate with a player went with both sides along with the ps3/pc loading times that's why JP ONRY became a meme. the closest letter to L they have sounds like an R.
Even thou you could look up the region on game version playerrs have, if you could prove you could write and understand they would let you play with them
The whole nationality thing is a western ideal. Specifically North America.
