Still, I don't really believe the "clipping" excuse, as au ra horns can clip pretty horribly. The difference with au ra, is that they set a precedent already that they are a race that gets hats. Yoshida outright said that viera doesn't, and I don't know if he'd ever budge on that prospect, unless they overhaul how they do races; streamline the process. Even if they had a universal ear type, maybe Yoshida still wouldn't budge on adding headgear.

Well, I don't know where the exclusive character creation features are, and to be honest, after 3 years of release, we only received old hair, which they also said we wouldn't receive.

Since the exclusivity promise was not kept, then why keep the restrictions? SE's excuses fall apart, from the moment I see several helmets being adapted by players. And amazingly Amon's hat, which would be a big problem, has already been made, and doesn't clip on any of the ears.

I appreciate some actual polite discourse. I came here expecting to be attacked or put down for having a divergent opinion - as one could probably tell from the tone of my initial post.

You are right, they do make exceptions from time to time, and that is I think the best we can expect from them. Particularly, I'd make specific requests for iconic pieces to be made available. Such as the artifact job sets headgear. There might even be hope for future event sets, although people have been giving feedback on that specifically for years now. These events reward headgear so sparsely however, that I see no reason why that request is unreasonable. Really, I think anything reasonable and without vitrol is what the devs will see, or acknowledge, rather than everything at once and everything in the future as well. Again, I don't have any faith that they actually read the forums - though it doesn't hurt to compile some feedback here - having feedback on multiple platforms can only help that cause, in my opinion.

out of all the people I've discussed on this forum, you are by far one of my favorites. We've been in several discussions, and sometimes we don't even agree, but they were always good conversations.

Even though it's very difficult, I still have hopes of taking my voice to SE. As one of the people who fought for the male viera, I can't say that complaints don't resolve. I try to make myself heard even on twitter, but with few followers, and an account that I barely use, the place I get the most visibility is here, on the forum.

That's nice to read. I appreciate when a reasonable discussion can happen. Some days I can be particularly pessimistic, or sarcastic, about the state of the game, so I'm not going to say I'm not at fault in some interactions going badly. Still, in reality I really do hope for the best for the game. It is definitely frustrating when you think three years of feedback just isn't heard.

I guess I am still a little optimistic than I let on, deep down. I suppose I do still have the feeling that with a little effort, and reasonable feedback, across platforms, maybe Yoshida will budge on certain issues at some point. I'd say even if you don't have too many followers, it's still better to try than not, for sure. Maybe one day it'll be plausible for them to make more exceptions in terms of headgear. I wish viera would get some racial specific styles, that'd be my own personal hope - quality ones I mean. At the very least they could make the shared hairstyles look better, without their gigantic foreheads!
