    The problem with personal LBs is that it would just be treated as any other cooldown, something to weave into your rotation. Sure, it might have a long cooldown, but it would still become part of your rotation. This is before thinking out how it would affect your rotation as a whole and the resources you would normally acquire.

    Veteran healers don't care if we need to heal, but right now we don't. We want interesting things to do during the downtime other than a 30s dot and a single filler spell that hasn't changed from lvl 4 to lvl 90.
    Dead DPS do no DPS. Raised DPS do 25/50% lower DPS. Do the mechanics and don't stand in bad stuff.
    Other games expect basic competence, FFXIV is pleasantly surprised by it. Other games have toxic elitism. FFXIV has toxic casualism.[/LIST]

    Not really. ESO has something very similar. It is called "Ultimate ability". But it works individually and it is not limited to instanced content.

    Yeah but that requires more toasters from the fifties as servers and using toasters from the fifties as servers is not easy to do. The current toasters are overloaded enough as is. Won’t someone please think of the toasters??? They’re so overloaded the bread unbakes itself into dough when trying to toast it!!

    The problem isn't with the Limit Break integration, it's the disconnects during battle. A party member disconnecting mid fight shouldn't remove a portion of the gauge.
    Also, if you have people repeatedly disconnecting during a Trial, it would seem they are the problem.

    I agree about the fact that LB system should get a rework because Casters and ranged LBs are barely used.
    However, I'd like more fights to require various LBs and not just the tank LB3
    It's a kind of a unique system in MMOs and should be used much more beyond "Survive the attack or deal high dps"
    In my opinion, I think the way people use Tank LB in Ultima weapon unreal is good because you can do the fight without ever touching LB button but if you want convenience you can use tank LB3 to survive the third orbs phase which supplements a lack of skill or coordination with LB that may or may not have charged fully but at least gives the team an alternative chance to survive.

    Sort of inclined to agree. It's especially fun when the OT doesn't know the timing, wastes it before you can use it properly, and makes you wipe.

    Tank LB might see a little more use if the community didn't have an obsession with Melee lb3 (which is good, but hugely overrated) and viewed Tank LB as some sort of low skill cheese instead of utilizing another piece of your toolkit. People were up in arms over the use of tank lb3 for the double-blue-double-red planets in EX 3 and would rather risk a wipe and lose uptime for the 6 seconds that melee lb saves. Tank lb has solid uses on P2, P3 and P4 Savage, Unreal, EX3 and in Ultimate. Be creative with it.

    But yes, I agree with the OP that mandatory use in DF content is a bad thing. Mainly because of the loss of gauge for a disconnect. I wouldn't really miss it.

    Isn't that the whole problem? Tanks have no reason to use the LB normally, so maybe something else should be done. Make Tank LB actually useful outside of instances that are essentially crafted for the purpose of forcing it.
