Its not like the lgbtq can't be toxic either. People are people regardless of whatever orientation you are. I had a co-worker years ago who is gay and he absolutely hates the lgbtq community because to him they were extremely toxic as he'd get more hateful comments and threats from them than from anywhere else.

My favorite hot take from the thread so far is that people aren't allowed to be critical of their own community without being some sort of phobe or ist.

I see it a lot with women too, where tbh very often men too tell women that they're being victimized and have internalized misogyny for what makes them happy.
In gaming I see this shit a lot with how female characters are portrayed.
If you're a woman and you like characters such as Bayonetta or skimpy outfits and cosplay you get told you have interalized misogny and then these same people sit around talking about modesty like the puritans and don't see the irony and how much they're projecting.
There's just something very bizarre about pretending to be some saviour of women and then completely stripping women of all autonomy and acting like everything they do is just '' for men ''.
I mean in the end of the day no woman is a spokesperson for women, but it's especially rich when you have men portraying themselves as these great '' allies '' but then very heavily and aggressively try and dictate what women should and do think and feel about things.
in the games industry it's completely infested with this and it's very frustrating.

This became a public thing so I won't go too much into details for privacy reasons, but I know someone who worked at a major studio and had her male boss come up to her and start talking shit about her private fluff she had decorated her office space with ( art, figurines etc ).
Doing the whole usual '' wow I can't believe how misogynistic and gross this is, I don't find this attractive at all '' ( why did he think she should give a shit if he found it attractive lol? ).
Dude did this a lot and virtue signaled really hard about how '' concerned '' he was about the portrayal of women etc.
Same guy was a total creep and it even escalated into groping and she became scared to go to work every day, dude didn't get fired HR protected him regardless of multiple women coming out against him.
Because he's supposedly '' one of the good guys '', and my friend and her other collegues were '' womaning '' wrong for liking such things.

If you '' step out of line '' with the self-proclaimed Feminist spokes people for women you're basically treated like a traitor and a poor little victim who have no autonomy.

I don't think Erozea really needs a pride event- that isn't to say that I'm not intrigued by the game exploring the concepts of it through a side quest or flavor text as a trans guy myself. Especially so with races that have distinct differences between the sexes. Besides, even if trans people don't exist within the lore of Eorzea, that's what headcannons are for.

EDIT: Wait??? Hold on a sec, fcs already make public pride events tho?? If it's for pride gear- then, okay can't blame the want for more potential glam pieces.
