Oh hey.. they did exactly what they said they were gonna do and adjusted the wards.
Go guys go!
WHERE IS THIS KETTLE EVERYONE KEEPS INTRODUCING ME TO?
I have been saying for 2 months now that they care and this announcement proves I was right.

my favorite is how events keep throwing outdoor furniture at me that I can't use, and indoor furniture that I have no space for because my apartment's been at cap for 2 years.
on the bright side, i had 0 incentive to do those events
maybe one day SE will look at their housing metrics and stop doing the in-game equivalent of handing a homeless man a welcome mat and wondering why he's upset
Sad thing is, this is still probably the way to go. All this change does is guarantees that in 17 days thousands of people who trusted the devs will descend on whatever's left of wards 10-18 by then. Anyone who made a shell FC will be able to get in before all that competition gobbles up what's left. Even if these changes went into effect in the next bidding cycle, here on balmung we'd consume it all and be right back to square one in a single bidding session. In 17 days, the ~100 or so small plots currently available in those wards are gonna drop off. When it's time for individual bids to begin, we're gonna see individuals dealing with disgusting competition on a plot they don't even really want. Meanwhile, if you abused the system and just made a gross solo FC you wouldn't have to deal with any of this. I know people who did this the moment it was announced because they had 0 faith in square (rightfully so), and they're squared away in their nice little house and working towards starting up solo submarine ventures so they can print money in the future. Square themselves incentivized this crap and now they're even giving the slower folks a two weeks notice on when the gravy train is ending, lmao. It's so gross. Community's just undermining the whole FC system and Square's over here giving them the thumbs up for doing it and politely keeping them afloat on important housing dates so their alt-FC doesn't miss out on screwing individual players out of a home. Unless you literally just made a solo fc last week, you pretty much won the housing game by abusing the system and square's decided that this is fine. It was 100% the right call to make.
I feel crazy reading these new housing announcements, because loads of people here are celebrating like we're getting these changes tomorrow and not in nearly 3 weeks when the supply will have fallen off a cliff.

I never said make a fc to circumvent the ward split I said make a fc to get a house and stop crying about personnel wards. If that circumvents a ward split so-be-it.
