Crystal Tower Raids should just be remodeled to solo or 4man dgns and let lvl 60 and onward alliance raids be the new alliance roulette. Would we be stuck now doing more mhach raids than any other? Of course but at least, I'd have fun doing dun scath and weeping city than CT raids.

I'd just skip the roulette.

The crafting system in this game isn't fun.

Would rather have traditional MMO crafting where you afk process materials then one click craft.

The issue with quick synthesis is that it will most likely craft the item in normal quality, which often just makes it a waste of your materials. In mmos that just have 1 button afk crafting there usually is no "normal" and "high" quality.

You are right, why not just lock "high quality" into very slim chances to forward the usage of microtransactions like every other game does!

and they person I quote never mentioned anything as such as quality I do realize now that I quoted something old and they might have argumented about it but hey if it needs to be High quality it is probably worth the effort

In some ways it makes sense, like if someone wanted Thrall or something it would be extremely silly to request here "I really want Thrall in FFXIV" ... "uh.. if you want Thrall.. play WoW", but as an overall statement I feel it's silly..

What if WoW had very high quality instanced housing, or fantastic combat or something akin to the effect.

"Man I wish our housing was as good as WoW's"
"YOU WANT GOOD HOUSING!?!? GO PLAY WOW"

Personally I see far more "go play something else / go play X" used as a stopper in the path of improvements and understanding. Like someone who uses another game as a reference to functional concepts and you get the big parrot "go play wow *squawk*".

Maybe the person asking for something gave a 2/10 effort, but I feel this ("go play x / leave") behavior makes a 0/10 quality to the thread. I'd always prefer to see someone poorly trying to ask for something than relatively lazy dismissal's of concepts. One is vaguely informative, the other is almost entirely, if not actually, a useless addition- imo.

You have /MANY/ of WoW's systems already though . . . Yoshida even mentioning WoW as a teacher / inspiration.

Of course you want the games to have whatever they do well, that's why you have to say what you like or what you don't like. This is in some ways subjective, just because a sports game does a sports thing well does not mean it has to go into FFXIV, or just because EVE does espionage systems in an interesting way for EVE players doesn't mean we want FC espionage here. Of course. But, in the case of WoW particularly, there are many many similarities and such it is not abnormal, wrong, or even factually inaccurate to say they could, can, and do have excellent potential to learn and inspire each other to do better. WoW and FFXIV have more similarities than differences. Removing the differences may or may not be a good idea but you have to discuss each one- not offer a sort of meek platitude.

Can you honestly say everything is perfect? Maybe you can, but I certainly cant and wont. (Though I would say I prefer FFXIV over WoW).

There are things I think WoW does well that I believe FFXIV could learn from, of course there are things WoW does well that'd I'd rather not have, and there are things WoW does awfully that I want to see SE do the opposite of.

"Go play WoW" when someone is asking for something is relatively useless, imo. Even when compared to a poorly worded request, I'd still rank such a comment as lower quality and value to the thread at large (if I was reading the forum for valuable feedback to help improve / understand players). Saying why you don't want a change that someone wants from WoW, and perhaps why it doesn't fit FFXIV but fits WoW would however be very helpful to read. But just "go play WoW", 0/10 value and just diminishes overall quality of discourse while it disrupts and derails the conversation.
