I don't believe you were lying.
SE stated somewhere that if you try to transfer to a server and it becomes full, and your default server is already full they will put you somewhere else. This is the risk one takes for a transfer.
This was just a mistake that happened. You tried to transfer to a place you already were and gave up your spot because you were uninformed (for whatever reason.)

Im moving to rag.I just came back after being away for a while,read that rag was for mainly eu,sounded good to me and so i selected it.then an hour later i make some nice friends,in a lovely ls and really enjoying myself.so thought i wud try and undo my selection but the time was up and im havin to move.my thing though,rag will be my third server,on each one ive met some lovely people and accepted into nice linkshells.i will do the same on this server.i was also the only one who left ffxi,so started ffxiv alone so to speak.sorry if ur not happy about whats happened,bt it seems nothing is goin to be done,so chin up,make some new friends and play the game.its not too difficult to type hi when you see another char.

This is the only issue that could make my friends and I quit. I joined FFXIV with a half dozen people, whom I directed to my server If these stupid merges force us to a different server, we will all be quitting. Our subs are yours to lose.

I thought 1.21 would be a good time to check-in on FFXIV, what with jobs being released and all. I played FFXI for years, and was curious to see how they are progressing towards 2.0. I had been casually keeping tabs on whats going on, and I remember the server merger information being posted to twitter. Naturally, that's the first place I went when reactivating my account.. and was even present with a splash to do so.

My goal here was to make sure I remained on the SAME server with all my friends, and I figure this is the path I have to take. I try to set up a transfer to Durandal, which I now realize is the default server I would have been put on had I taken no action. Regardless, it tells me its full... which is not the problem.

The problem is: now I'm being defaulted to Ragnarok. Because apparently, since its the only server that isn't "full", you thought it would be a good idea to throw me there. On the official European server. Without my blessing. I contacted support through email, and they tell me theres no way to reverse this even though the merger hasn't taken place yet.

WHAT? I contact you a week in advance before anything has happened yet, and there's nothing you can do to stop the process? I never selected Ragnarok, and nowhere on the transfer information does it say that action is not required. Quite frankly I'm furious. I understand that technically it was my misunderstanding that put me in this predicament, but what kind of retarded system defaults a player to a server they didn't chose? Why would my default option not remain WHAT IT WOULD HAVE BEEN? It's unacceptable, and quite frankly mind-boggling coming from a company/game attempting to rebuild it's reputation.

If this goes through, you have lost a customer for 2.0.

shoulda read how it worked first. player error-all of you guys complaining about this fucked up and you can't reverse it...just like me deleting a whole retainer-shit, i lost everything i've worked towards since i started playing and i got over it in a couple hours; just really wish i could have my luminary and crown back >.>
