Is it me or is the upper floor for Small size houses are much more smaller than an apartment’s?

a smalls ground floor is 3x3 squares (excluding the stairway that wasnt there originally)

Small houses also have a basement that is larger than an apartment. It you exclude the side with the stairwell, it's 3x5. That's something that frequently gets overlooked.

Considering we can make use of the stairwell area for decorating using the storage glitch, that makes a small more than twice the size of an apartment.

Thank you for supplying that information. Would you believe that no amount of Googling was able to turn up the size difference between apartments and small houses? There may only be a few small houses left on my server once the new round opens up but I will try for one because at least it gives, now that I know from your post, a bit more space to work with.
