Because it’s a complete strawman of Minfilia and Venats actions and the reasons behind it. Hydaelyn was nearly dry of aether and called out to a noted ally for aid who made clear time and time again she wanted to help. There’s nothing indicating that Minfilia wished to not be the Word of the Mother or that she was going to die if she didn’t say yes, and it’s made clear that her decision were her own. The game explicitly says she did so because she wished to.

Dry of aether lmao. What about the big crystal she hoards behind her? Or, idk, she seems fine when appearing in front of us in EW. Better yet, maybe try to prevent the flood of light by telling ardbert to not over do it?

As minfilia fan, I'll say "get fucked, venat". Wish she spend the rest of her time being in hell with hermes instead of deleting her soul.

Admittedly I wasn't a fan of her, though I didn't hate Minfilia. I always thought it was pretty messed up what happened to her and the fact that her sacrifice was pushed as a necessary thing later on made me find the entire situation rather strange! Especially since we see her saying 'what? no!' at the time of her initial capture and the story criticises G'raha for wanting to sacrifice himself later on. Another cause of the the story being very picky and choosy in regards to what stance it wishes to take at any given time, I suppose...

Yeah, i actually liked Minfilia during ARR and seeing her in EW was one of the few times i actually felt somewhat emotional. Seeing her just wandering about aimlessly all alone just made me think how she was basically thrown away like a used puppet by Venat because she didnt want to get her own hands dirty....and i dont think she even comments on it.
