Astrological is strictly relative ot the Earths rotation around the Sun, hence its bound to the Summer solstice.
HOWEVER the only actualy "date" for "midsummer" is funnily enough, as stated, also the Summer Solstice, making that time, booth the begining of astrological summer, and the Middle of Meterological summer(astrological summer dosnt really haev a "midsummer", sure it has a date that lies in the middle of it, but that isnt "midsummer") HECK i say midsummer is horrible misnamed anyway in english.
I prefeer for example the german term "hochsummer"(which means high summer) which dosnt indicate any sort of "timeframe" and just that its the hight of summer, where its the hottest.. Aka Summer solstice.
Anyway.... just because you dont like using it, dosnt make the meterological Summer any less real, nor does your argument make the time around june 23rd not Midsummer/midsummer day.
Meterological and Astrological summer just server different purposes.
And to your jab at Endwalker release... If we go Meterological, then YES it released in Winter, barely, if we go Astrological NO it didnt release in winter.
THat isnt a problem here tho, as in either situation it dosnt release "after summer" but early to middle of summer(which isnt the same as midsummer, because the english language is a mess)
