Stop Advertising Housing as a Feature

Agreed. There are less than 10 personal houses available on my server and with no auto-demolition, the lottery is all but guaranteed to stagnate completely. You cannot hope to advertise this feature and mislead people if there is simply no access. You'd think by now that they'd know their playerbase leans overwhelmingly in favor of personal housing over FC housing, and yet here we are singing the same song and dance as usual.

Housing is broken and SE need to fix it, but you missed a few. There are 12, including one medium on Spriggan.

How is housing broken? Because it is not! It is working as intended, you can maybe complain about the lack of housing, but that is pretty much it, but not broken.

Well that would be fantastic if whole housing districts weren't completely sold out of apartments on my server. You cannot get one if you want to live in the Glade or Shirogane here, I imagine Mist is the same situation. Doubtless there are plenty left over in the despised Goblet and Ishgard apartments will eventually run out as well. This situation is going nowhere fast.

Hey, I am on your side. However, this is a little bit precious. Make a start, and salve some of the hurt, empty your retainers a bit, and we will all keep pushing SE to make this situation better.

Housing is available to all players and has always been available to all players.
The game and it's staff have already long delivered on their promise that everyone has access to housing. But if it's primary ownership that you seek then you will be out of luck.
Fortunately, ownership is not required to participate in and enjoy housing to the fullest.

All housing from apartments to premium tier housing (with an actual house and lawn) and their features such as gardening and workshop are fully within reach and accessible through sharing for every player.

Examples:

- Having a friend who has a house and is willing to share is a great cost saver for you and you do not need to upkeep your own subscription.

- Finding a tight knit FC which is willing to allow you access to the extended features of an FC house is not difficult if you avoid every wholesale large FC advertising in town.

- People who are hiring a gardener, a decorator, even a workshop guru. There are house and FC owners who simply do not have time to focus on these things and would like to have someone do it for them.

Ultimately, the path to housing requires you to be social and make new friends. The very goal of housing in general as a bonus social feature. Nobody is truly gated or locked out of housing and it's offerings if you are willing to make friends and build trust with people in your community.

If you are unable or unwilling to do any or some form of the above examples, then you will be at the mercy of the lottery.

If the overwhelming majority of players can only access housing through their FC or friends, then it's both an incredibly flawed system and entirely disingenuous to claim "housing and its offerings" are available to them. They weren't be able to decorate these houses because, naturally, the owner will want to put their own flair on it. You're essentially saying renting a room from someone is the same as owning the house itself because you both live under the same roof. One is not at all like the other.

It's better to have something while you try for a better option, than nothing.
