I clearly read when talking about it that you do nothing if you don't want to be merged with another server. You simply must not have read what they said. Default is no action required. Doing otherwise jeopardizes your spot.I thought 1.21 would be a good time to check-in on FFXIV, what with jobs being released and all. I played FFXI for years, and was curious to see how they are progressing towards 2.0. I had been casually keeping tabs on whats going on, and I remember the server merger information being posted to twitter. Naturally, that's the first place I went when reactivating my account.. and was even present with a splash to do so.
My goal here was to make sure I remained on the SAME server with all my friends, and I figure this is the path I have to take. I try to set up a transfer to Durandal, which I now realize is the default server I would have been put on had I taken no action. Regardless, it tells me its full... which is not the problem.
The problem is: now I'm being defaulted to Ragnarok. Because apparently, since its the only server that isn't "full", you thought it would be a good idea to throw me there. On the official European server. Without my blessing. I contacted support through email, and they tell me theres no way to reverse this even though the merger hasn't taken place yet.
WHAT? I contact you a week in advance before anything has happened yet, and there's nothing you can do to stop the process? I never selected Ragnarok, and nowhere on the transfer information does it say that action is not required. Quite frankly I'm furious. I understand that technically it was my misunderstanding that put me in this predicament, but what kind of retarded system defaults a player to a server they didn't chose? Why would my default option not remain WHAT IT WOULD HAVE BEEN? It's unacceptable, and quite frankly mind-boggling coming from a company/game attempting to rebuild it's reputation.
If this goes through, you have lost a customer for 2.0.
I've admitted multiple times, including in the original post, that it was my error for going by the original merger instructions and not the updated ones.
Now why can't (some of) you people realize that the merger hasn't even happened yet? And won't happen until two weeks after the mistake? Any other MMO company on the planet would have the capacity to fix this.

There is nothing to fix, unless you transferred off of the server you wanted to stay on, in which case, you should have read the instructions.I've admitted multiple times, including in the original post, that it was my error for going by the original merger instructions and not the updated ones.

ITT: Tons of people who have never made a single mistake in their entire lives. I didn't realize the ff14 community was made up of so many perfect beings. I think those of us with flaws should be immediately ousted from this prestigious circle. I'm sure the game will do just fine with even less revenue.

You had months in advance to update your account, now you are flaming SE because you didnt care at that time, so why would they care about your account?I thought 1.21 would be a good time to check-in on FFXIV, what with jobs being released and all. The rules were set a month in advance giving priority to US WHO ACTUALLY PLAY THE GAME, make a new character and choose the server that you wanted to stay or wait until 2.0
And i read that if you didnt do anything you will be moved to your same server by default, but in any case i stated my points.
