I have that weird issue (I googled it to see if it was a common problem) where when I plug in my USB keyboard it makes half of my game non interactable. Like, I can sure my hotbars and open menus, but I can't select anything in menu windows because the cursor keep flickering. It doesn't fix if I unplug, I have to reset the game by exiting then relogging. It happened a lot at Endwalker's launch last year and the only work around I found was switching to the simulated cursor mode which was really only a bandaid, but it was better than jumping back into a 3000+ people queue. I think it's because my USB keyboard has a touchpad mouse on it? Like the PS5 touchpad and it are fighting for dominance or something? But I've yet to find a fix besides buying another keyboard and hoping it works.

Had a really rough time in the seat of sacrifice the other day if that counts. Both myself and the other tank were new. We mentioned it at the beginning, no one mentioned LB3ing after the QTE. No need to explain what happened next. The whole fight up to that point was absolutely fine, everyone survived, people were dodging, damage was fine, heals were fine, no one failed the QTE, both of us tanks just messed up. Other party members explained and we said we understood, we apologized and we probably should've moved on and finished the fight with ease, right?

Someone failed the QTE afterwards. This happened twice before the other tank left. It happened four times before I gave up and left after we got a new tank. I'm genuinely certain that someone in that group was angry at us for our lack of knowledge and decided to fail the QTE to "punish" us since even one person failing the QTE wipes the entire party.

It's both funny and also extremely annoying how uptime in normal so frequently is more difficult than in Savage.
Because so many Tanks in normal have absolutely zero concept of how to handle the boss.

They're dragging them all over the place and never moving them so that you can keep hitting them when a mechanic happens and they can't tank the boss in one direction the boss is just spinning around and around the entire fight.
It's like they never move when they should and always move when they shouldn't.

If you're gonna tank then please think about what you're doing, give it some actual thought and don't just do it mindlessly.
Maybe try and play melee yourself and realize how frustrating it is and think about how you can make it less frustrating for them.

To the party I got randomly thrown into Ktsis Hyperboreia on Leveling Roulette. Apologies for first, the sync causing my tank stance to get switched off and me going unga-bunga and not noticing for a few seconds through the first big pull, second for my god awful gear - literally have no idea why the hell the roulette decided it was alright for me to get thrown into a level 87 dungeon when my main gear on my DRK is like still the Cryptlurker gear with some Ktsis accessories and Vanspati weapon (absolutely would not go into the dungeon willingly if my gear was not okay; was actually expecting a level 70 dungeon or something, I'm really tired and my brain isn't working). Third, for not noticing my DRK was at 89, which I literally could have scooped up the DRK level 89 gearset ahead of time... granted again I was not expecting roulette to throw me into a dungeon that I wouldn't willingly choose to go into with my current gear whatsoever.

And finally, so many apologies for Spectrum being a pain in the butt and dc'ing me when the first boss was at 0.4% health, literally my router didn't reconnect until a minute or two ago so I sincerely hope they kicked my character and got a new tank with (hopefully) well equipped gear. This is why I don't play on my main as much as I used to, because I hate situations that roulette ever so rarely throws me into without me being prepared ahead of time and being taken off guard. I definitely would have willingly left after the first boss was down as I hate being a detriment to the party, so I suppose it worked out either way I guess?

Literally feel like the experience was literally me going like this:

Note to self; never play when I'm super exhausted because it leads to situations where I'm not thinking x.x

Had 2 amazing frontline games back to back. One was when I was playing ninja, the other was when I was playing White Mage.

    The first game.
Players were coordinating (stuns to securing kills), ninjas were assassinating and running away without pushing too hard, and lots of precision-based skirmishes happened with MCH/BRD/RPR/DRG/BLM/WHM. There were a lot of plays on sabotaging the enemy teams and pinching the enemy directly towards their base. There were good amounts of contesting and wrestling over the S ranks in Onsal Hakair. There were a good deal of summoners trying to use their LB, but they couldn't really get a good foothold with how rapidly changing the battlefield was. No one from any alliance allowed a coordinated group of SMN to get their LB off. Plus, everyone just directly slapped them to death the moment they tried to step out, or just directly sniped/targeted them from afar. LMAO. If I didn't know any better, a bunch of high ranked players joined the game. It really felt like I was playing at Platinum/Diamond again too, because I couldn't get away with most of the plays I usually do unless I played more seriously and left less openings because both grand companies immediately saw what I was planning on doing and would burst me down if I tried to attack them up front.

There was a couple of instances where the two opposing grand companies were competing for the ovoo. Our Grand company just swooped in, started harassing both of them with our attacks and took out their Battle High party members / biggest threats equally while they were still fighting each other, right before we directly went and dismantled one of the grand companies. Now that one grand company has their deaths staggered and lost their Battle High --- One party (Alliance A) went and stalled off the return point for that grand company, the 2nd alliance (Alliance B) went and fought the other grand company for the ovoo. The third alliance (C) went and provided support to the Alliance (B) for the most part by focusing specifically on killing the bigger threats and the tanks went to help stall the respawn point with Alliance A.

We managed to steal an A rank ovoo under the two opposing alliances without dying much by taking advantage of the other two alliances to fight each other initially while whittling both of them down equally. It was amazing. There wasn't much communication to go around and do that other than a couple of callouts for nodes. Even then, there weren't that many because people were paying attention. Everyone just KNEW what to do to a certain extent.

    The second game, Oh boy.
I felt like I was back in Crystal tier again. I was immortal flames on White Mage. We were bullying adders ( Adders dropped to 0 points at last place while the other two grand companies were at 100 to 200 points), then maelstorm players. Our 24 man was just better at skirmishing overall. Eventually adders and maelstorm players started to wisen up and coordinated to attacking us one after the other on 2 different angles. And the best part of their coordination? They attacked us in succession and didn't directly try to go kill us. They were trying to stall us out while grabbing the nearby ovoos. Maelstorm got greedy though - they tried to swoop in and take the ovoo like my previous game, but our alliance and the adders were more more skillful and didn't let such a big advantage happen as easily. Maelstorm got punished as a result from both grand companies. Overall, all 3 alliances were pretty balanced in terms of player skill and technique, but adders were slowly pulling ahead due to coordination with maelstorm and had the better strategy.

I was able to prevent a good number of Ninja Seitons and disable the enemy SMN at ideal points, but I wasn't able to do anything conclusive because there was really no super good opening available outside of using my LB to give everyone more time to escape with the stunned enemies and regroup. The most I was able to do was both delay an ovoo from being captured or secure a kill between 1 to 3 players who moved too far away from the rest of their party. Funnily enough though... one time I used LB to delay an ovoo capture, I died to adders immediately focusing me because everyone else in my party pulled back and was focused on the adder's ninja that appeared in our backline at the middle ovoo. It was a great attempt at misdirecting the party because they would've captured the ovoo otherwise. Though they probably didn't expect me to interrupt their capture with my LB even if I died for it. My LB gave maelstorm enough time for mael to reach the ovoo platform and blindside adders, forcing another fight. Eventually, maelstorm stole the ovoo while my grand company decisively abandoned the ovoo for another A rank near maelstorm after seeing the entire maelstorm rush towards mid while they were near the bottom of the bridge. Honestly, it was a better trade in my opinion since adders were gaining a lot more points than the maelstorm at that point.

A lot of S ranks and A ranks spawned at some point. Everyone coordinated to grabbing them. Eventually, adders started beating up maelstorm after the other two tag teamed on our 24 man alliance. At some point, we split our 24 man to have a smaller group contest for the ovoos while the main group were forced to fight the two opposing grand companies in succession, but they even prevent us from joining the fight at some point using stall tactics. Eventually, adders was able to secure a lot more points while maelstorm was throwing themselves at us. We eventually got overwhelmed from sheer numbers and delayed consistently before having to regroup at base. We were able to at least secure the two A ranks at our base even with the crazy onslaught though, in addition to the other A ranks from maelstorm's territory.

At some point, I immediately saw the two S ranks that spawned in adders / maelstorm's territory. Did you know what the adders and maelstorm did when the S ranks spawned? They sent all their tanks at us.

Literally, all their tanks rushed at us while the rest of their team was focused on capturing the points.
Most players immediately stopped to fight them, and I instantly realized this was just a distraction the moment I realized there were only tanks on the enemy team. It's a classic strategy employed in Crystalline Conflict, except done on a much larger scale. It was a really good distraction too, because it worked. All their tanks were set to delay us as long as possible while running towards the opposite direction from the objective in case people in our alliance tried to kill them. We managed to secure 1 S rank against maelstorm using callouts to ignore the tanks from the two opposing grand companies, but it was too late at that point. Adders accumulated too much points against maelstorm and the other ovoos while we were stun-locked in our base earlier on, so they managed to win the game.

The number 1 tactic - to grab aggro with the tanks in the classical PvE scenario - actually managed to work in the PvP setting.

I'm not even mad or salty. There was a lot of different strategy created on the fly in these last couple of fights, and I've seen so much different players coordinate to grab a win. It was quite an amazing experience for all 3 grand companies to play so well. I thoroughly enjoyed these matches since it felt like high-end Crystalline Conflict but scaled to 72 players. Though, after two games, my brain power felt fully spent, haha. There was definitely a level of mental exhaustion that I normally don't feel when playing Frontline back to back on a consistent basis.

When trying to help a friend install Windows 10 onto a disk that had Win 7 on it from over 300 miles away overnight burns your brain out and then you try to raid roulette afterwards first thing in the morning.

To my party, I'm sorry I forgot that I could vercure ->verraise when people failed Ultima mechanics in Orbonne.

I didn't think that after playing this game for almost 6 months I'd run into one these kind of situations....

    but...it happened...

two days ago I was putting my Dancer through the shadowbringer dungeons for practice (and it was in the 70-80 range)

The dungeon's malikah's well or something other. It's the dungeon that has the final boss that is that lightwarden that's a coin with wings.

The group is me on my Dancer, a Reaper, Paladin, and a Scholar. We handle the 1st wave of trash mobs alright, nothing's wrong at all until we get to the first boss(it's that critter with a morningstar for a tail.). Paladin dies, the rest of us follow shortly. We respawn and get back to the boss. This time the scholar somehow dies, but twice as early in the boss fight. The boss is still at like..80% hp left...so I redouble my efforts to try and carry us. My dance partner, the reaper tripped on an aoe and dies before I realize he needed the curing waltz. I swap dance partners in a vain effort to keep the paladin alive but shit hits the fan and i can't outsustain the raidwides with Curing Waltz/Second Wind (as much as I tried to convince myself.)

We're running back to the boss for the 3rd time and we're just talking casually about what's going on. Then the healer up and confesses he was watching LOTR extended while this shit was going on.

Me and the Reaper just look at each other...

The Paladin L.O.S.E.S H.I.S S.H.I.T (For obvious reasons.) According to the Paladin's testimony he was never getting any heals throughout these last two attempts we made on the first boss fight.

before our paladin boiled over, I kindly reminded the healer we need his full attention while doing this but the straw that broke all 3 of our backs was when he tried to justify it by saying that one of the scenes was too good to pass up. The healer stopped walking with us back to the boss halfway there down the tunnels...we didn't think he/she was serious about favoring LOTR over the dungeon run that he/she queued up for.

I think our reaper was the party leader so we booted the healer, got another one almost immediately. We were then able to run the rest of the dungeon like clockwork. (like the previous 5 times I've done the dungeon before this debacle took place.)

Contrary to what people believe, this isn't a game you can just play netflix off to the side with.

Just an FYI, it doesn't matter who the party leader is, anyone can initiate the vote kick. Otherwise you could end up with a power tripping leader who kicks for the stupidest things, or does absolutely nothing while others bust their asses to get the job done.

I never noticed it though. Where is it supposed to be at? I pressed "U" and brought up the duty menu but I only had the options for Vote Abandon, leaving and something else. I've only seen the menu once.

To vote dismiss, you need to open up the party list > right click the member > pick the vote dismiss option.

Regarding your story though, unfortunately the green icon feels like the most desireable role to fill when DF folks just wants to half ass their way through while watching netflix or any other attention drawing apparatus. I'm more surprised that they're openly admitting not being present though.
