I wanted FF14 to thrive, I loved Stormblood but the game is dying and on it’s way out.

Square Enix, changes need to be made FAST.

A note: These are Steam Numbers and are over-exacerbated by this rhetoric. Do you know the amount of people who are playing on the client and not through Steam? Because ever since the part where you can't even transfer FROM Steam, people have not wanted to buy it on Steam for the longest time; hence low numbers for Steam.

While I will agree with some of your issues such as healers(I have a thread for that) and some of the other aspects, it doesn't help make your argument compelling that they're going to be losing half their population in a year. Also to note, it's not a major patch. There are lulls in content that make the player count drop.

also mmos always have this kind of drop off. Expect returners around the .4 or .5 patch and another swell at 7.0

30-40k peak has been normal for FFXIV for years now on steam...A platform that is hardly the majority of the population since most players are on console or the standard pc version is not something you should really be paying attention to, especially since player drop off is completely normal after an expansion. A lot of the FFXIV community only plays for the story and doesn't stick around for the post patch content. I'm sure some people are dissatisfied and unsubbed due to the complaints you listed, but its hardly the main reason....not even close.

FFXIV population is fine right now and looking at steamcharts is a waste of time. Saying the game is "dying" is comical at best when these population fluctuations is normal for FFXIV.

Idt Steam is an accurate telll btw. You'd have a better metric with LuckyBancho.. I think that's what it's called. Also, you're not accounting for the fact that December 2021 was the EW launch, so of course the population was higher. We're now having small drips of content in between the big patches, I believe.

Also, not sure if the game is "dying and on its way out", especially since WoW is still kickin' after 93384839 controversies, lol I doubt this game dies faster than WoW or even RuneScape.

I wasn't around for SB-era XIV, but wasn't the population lower than it is these days, despite the hype for this game dying?
