I see some people trying to defend the design of overtime based on some notion of fairness. That is an enormous misconception. Overtime makes it so that the only period of time in the entire match which is worth anything for the final result is the split second in which the team that has been losing all along takes the lead.

Note that overtime is not about giving an extra time at the end of which whoever has the lead is victorious. Instead, it just gives each team completely unequal victory conditions. It is as biased as it gets.

It is just an artificial device intended to keep people from AFKing when they are losing, at the expense of merit/fairness.

It works well for the purpose it is intended but it makes the game considerably less interesting from a competitive standpoint since it weakens the relationship between skill and winning.

And it will continue as long as there will be enemies on it so what do you mean?
Matches where your team is genuinely dominant end very, very quickly. If the enemy team can keep you tied up to overtime, then it's not a match where your team is dominating. Dominating is not a word that leaves room for weakness and failure in a mode where a match can be over in less than a minute of time on crystal, nor a word that leaves room for a team that can be stalled out by one-man rushes.

If you're pushing the crystal and winning most of the engagements all the way to the other side of the map then I'd say that is dominating the match. Getting LB spammed during overtime and watching the crystal move at the speed of the light and go from one end of the map to the other before your team even respawns is NOT a good design. Overtime being a "comeback" mechanic is one of the most idiotic things in the world (comeback mechanics in general at bad design for competitive play. Its why the fighting game community is so torn on supers and meter systems), especially when skill wasn't even involved in that scenario.

Overtime giving the opponent a chance to fight back is perfectly fine, but the way it functions right now is just wrong.

    3) If they're trickling in one by one and you're running out of MP, why are you not backing up to elixir while your team 4v1s?
#3 is incredibly important and key for when your team is holding their own. You effectively respawn while keeping an eye on things and making sure your presence isn't immediately needed.

i say this in ever OT dissociation in CC if you run out oft time and you both at 50% its called a draw if you go into OT and your team is 51% percent to 50 you win aka OT shouldn't be a thing.
