I apologize. But still, it comes across as demonizing LGBT expression. Almost telling us to stop being expressive. Because...
...Yeah. It sounded like you're mad.Not mad at anything. Just questioning the need for them. Questioning why they're a thing in the first place. A lot of the time, the LGBTQ+ community doesn't come out and say "having a month dedicated to us demanding rights and recognition, making parades to show people we demand those things while having our efforts and work be swept under the rug"
Still, about parades, people use them for more than just "showing off the spectrum". It's also where people meet and explore. Part of it isn't for you. It's for other LGBT people. If you're LGBT, but just aren't aware of it, you'll see things you can relate to and learn more.
Much about being LGBT is complex, not something you can explain in the middle of the street. Nor in a forum. But it does catch people's attention and tell them "we're free enough to express ourselves, and so can you". It's why parades tend to grow, because people start talking more about the topic. It offers people a starting point to get what it's about. LGBT parades don't just stop at LGBT people, they tell straight people they can have options too.
It doesn't feel that way to many of us. Sometimes it's not society. It's people around us. I'd say most people are indifferent, even within the community. Not only is there a lot of institutionalized stuff that requires updating, the voices that hate us cause a lot more harm than half the people who support. And when those who cause harm are around us, it's really hard to feel accepted.I think there's a lot more supporters out there than you might realize. If not outright supporters, people who are indifferent. Yes, there are a lot of people who give hate to the community. Yes they're also very loud. And yes there is violence. But that doesn't mean it's a majority.
It is a start. But a start implies there's something more on the way, and since then there really hasn't been much. All we've had were vague stuff like G'raha and Haurchefant. And from what I was reading on the forums after the launch; there was a lot of hate from the idiots that don't have working neurons; but a lot of the LGBTQ+ community were good with it. (...) but it's a start. It's a step in the door. And now that the door is open, they can do more with it in the future. It's not going to happen over night.
There aren't many relationships portrayed in FF anyway. But a crushing majority are indeed straight. It'd just be nice if after so long we had more. Maybe on the same grounds as the one at the start. Just not a one-off thing.
I remember once, there was a straight pride parade. Straight people thought "Hey, if they can have one, we can too." They were treated with such vitriol, such, disgust and detestment, it was unreal. They didn't even have the "kink events" that tend to happen after the LGBTQ parades. In fact they had to file a descrimination complaint the city of boston to have it happen. It drew thousands of protestors throwing the generic buzz words "Bigot, racist, n*zi, fascist". Strangely enough a sympathetic gay man was named the grand marshal of the parade, and hundreds of LGBTQ people marched in the parade supporting the event.I have an honest genuine question.
Why do LGBTQ+ need festivals, parades and events based around them having a crush on someone? Does being gay/trans make you special in some way? If so, what way? Why does a guy liking another guy make you any different from a guy liking a girl?
Edit: What's disrespectful is you thinking you deserve an event based around you that I don't simply because you have a crush on someone that I don't. What's disrespectful is you thinking you deserve more than others.
It's strange, how much hate the event drew against them, wanting to have a parade of their own... and for the life of me, I don't know why.

LGBTQ+ issues are fairly local to countries with a Judeo-Christian background, especially in the USA where people are still actually killed for being LGBTQ+.
I live in Japan, and the situation with LGBTQ+ is not as severe over here. You have multiple overtly LGBTQ+ people in media since a long time ago.
Japanese literature, history, art is filled with LGBTQ+ material, so it probably doesn't occur to the devs that this is something to dedicate a month over.
Similar situations exist in other Asian countries, such as Thailand, Philippines, South Korea, etc.
Countries that are super-tough against LGBTQ would be places like Russia, countries that have a strict interpretation of Islam or Christianity (USA, Saudi Arabia, Iran, etc).

Some churches have even started adding glitter to the ashes of Ash Wednesday as a tribute to the LGBTQIAA++ community.

I'm not even religious but that seems awfully sacrilegious. Wouldn't that upset a lot of the more traditional folks that go to that church? Then again, I have no idea about the mentality of the average western religious person, they might be cool with that now, lol. /shrugSome churches have even started adding glitter to the ashes of Ash Wednesday as a tribute to the LGBTQIAA++ community.

LoL another troll thread.
As far as the victimhood thing though I don't really think LGBTQIA+ can claim that anymore cause there represented all over the media in a positive away, they have a month dedicated to them, people get fired from their jobs for saying something someone considered anti LGBTQIA+ or they get cancelled online, they have parades in their honor and a whole lot more.
Just because someone doesn't agree with you doesn't mean your a victim, as far as the death thing goes, Christians & Jews are slaughtered all the time in the middle east and here in America black churches have received death threats and even some of their members killed over the years, over here alot of faith based organizations are getting attacked by far left extremists cause of the recent events pertaining to the supreme court with roe vs Wade.
You're right on many accounts. A lot of what you say is why I left the LGBTQIAA++ movement altogether. In a lot of respects, it's gone too far. I'm leaving the troll thread on a single note, since I can only upvote you once:LoL another troll thread.

Can they even call themselves Christians from a Theological standpoint? Are they putting their judgement above that of the divine? I would respect them more if they held to their beliefs. No one respects those who try to play pretend or politically grift to survive.
