They're more likely to sell different color versions of the same outfit than allow you to dye the costumes.

Given that the lottery is just a bandaid for a much bigger issue, they sort of had to do something lest the opening of Elysium would have become a 'survival of the klick-iest' (we leave the drama about the lottery pull error aside - Which can happen to every game).People have already asked for that anyways regardless, SE implements changes based on player requests, so not sure why asking for non-onesie, dyable outfits will lead to such a slippery slope. Just cause something has always remained that way, doesn't mean it have to be. And I'm not quite sure why dyable outfits is the hardline they have to stop at lol. Dreamfitting, lottery is ok to implement since players asked for it, but dying NPC outfits? Nonono, SE has to double down on that!
Remaking the outfits isn't probably working so easily as people would expect. Mostly they are a one-piece, specifically catered for NPC's with dyes you probably won't find anywhere else. Besides, SE might go the traditional route and just have the players have the unique outfit 'as-is' as a 'You want to wear one of the outfits of your allies you made along the way and feel like them? Here's your chance!' - And stick with it, no extras to change the unique-ness of those.
Same goes with the theme of armors you see often in certain roles - More plated on tanks and more robes on healers. They got a certain design vision going on and they wouldn't like to bend their ideals -traditional or 'dumb' they are- to players that drum up for change.
It's their game, after all. Stubborn or not.
Lyse's NPC model isn't even a one piece - it's actually separated into pieces, as someone said earlier in the thread, so not even a onesie, they had it make it into one. They have far more complicated pieces in the shop alone, yet the NPC outfits are undyable for.. cause it's complicated? lol, if that's the case, then don't release it into the shop. If you don't want to put effort into something, then don't release it as a paid product. You should have familiar feelings of that as a Hrothgar, right? Or is having them continue to be a limited race just a design vision as well?Given that the lottery is just a bandaid for a much bigger issue, they sort of had to do something lest the opening of Elysium would have become a 'survival of the klick-iest' (we leave the drama about the lottery pull error aside - Which can happen to every game).

Also, still a poor excuse. If you want to feel like your favorite NPC with all the uniqueness, then.. just don't dye the outfit. Simple! Now you can run around with all of their unique goody colors. Their design vision includes bikinis on tanks, flowy robes on healers only, so not sure why that again, their design vision would be ruined by different color options.
Yes, it's their game that uh, we pay for, so like it or not we can have feedback regarding something as simple as color customization.
That's okay - As you said, it's feedback. And until now they didn't bothered with changing the NPC outfits since Heavensward, so likely they won't change it in the future.
And right now, they got a pretty mixed track record with getting things done and correct with 6.1 and onwards, so I don't hold my breath of even anything Hrothgar related. In the end, I possibly switch back to some other race to spare me the headache.

I feel like we're sitting at the top of a mounting watching little snow balls start to build up as they roll down the hill becoming the decline of this game.
I mean yeah, its just a shitty Cash shop outfit in a game that really shouldn't have a Cash Shop to begin with.
Just like its just hair customization options on a race that really isnt that popular
Just like its just the ability to wear hats on a race that is somewhat more popular
Just like its just having a functioning lottery system in your housing system that cannot even accommodate 95% of the playerbase
I'd keep going but then we might start noticing a pattern
Yes, very true that we might be waiting until 2065 for changes, but I made the topic knowing that they 1) take forever to address feedback unless it's immediately slammed with criticism and 2) just because it's been like that, doesn't mean we have to keep it that way, as I stated earlier.
Don't be complacent, at least scream into the void at other forum users like I do.

Tis not unprecedented. One must only heed the three carbuncle mounts. Equal in all but the pigmentation of their coat.
Mounts and costumes differ in their use tis true. Yet I dare say if such practices are being applied to more premium priced items sharing common functionality, would alternate costumes indeed be cause for widespread uproar? Nay, I say. 'twould be no more than hints of sparks easily put out by time's flow.

I humbly request that you release all the snowballs. It's good for my crusty old heart to shed it's outer layer once in a while, and a little cynicism and a minor outpour of reality is just the right recipe for my shoulder to continue chipping harder than blocking Servbot.I feel like we're sitting at the top of a mounting watching little snow balls start to build up as they roll down the hill becoming the decline of this game.
