They also need to make the outfit into different pieces. The top would go with so many different bottoms but alas.

I've always assumed this was the main reason as well. I'm more annoyed with the fact Lyse's set is another all-in-one. Was looking forward to mix and match parts but oh well. :/
So what? It doesn't absolve them of criticism. If you pay for a service you should expect quality should you not?
Go back to editing your former posts lol
edit: Ahh, I see. You're going around other threads whining for attention! Figures that your thread wouldn't be enough for you, huh?

I get the argument that is to "preserve the identity of the NPC"... but is that really a valuable thing to hold on?
I would still see "Lyse in Purple" or "Alphinaud in Pink" with dyeable options, is not like the NPC suddenly becomes unrecognizable.
But above everything else, being dyeable would increase the desirability of the items, which means more sales.
I personally just purchase NPC outfits whenever there's a hairstyle available or if it's not a single piece so I can at least mix and match. If those were dyeable, I would certainly be more leaning to buy most of the Scion attires.
In ye olden times, Yoshida or one of the Devs said, back in ARR, that they can't make something undyeable dyeable, that a dyeable version would have to be a completely new item because of the item data flags or some such. It sucks that they seem incapable of addressing whatever roadblocks exist to make a formerly undeyable piece dyeable. It also sucks that the Devs are inconsistent on dyeable outfits from non playable characters like the FF protag outfits, given that the Firion outfit remains undyeable when the other FF protag outfits are completely dyeable even Noctis' outfit which was a contractually obligated outfit design that was kept when XV shifted from Versus XIII to XV, due to said contracts.

If you're talking about Lyse's outfit, you should know unless you're new (and you probably are, given your data) that ingame NPC outfits have never been dyeable or adaptable to any gender.Seriously, the SECOND recently released costume set being undyable, really hoping y'all can stop this trend when it comes to the outfits. It's sad because people will still buy it cause it comes with the hair. :/ I know the streetwear is coming soon and that it will likely be dyable, FWIW. But it still doesn't make this set less sucky.
Just wondering why we can't get something so something as to making it dyable? What limitations are there? If we're going to pay real money on top of a subscription for a cash shop, at least give us a bit of a courtesy and allow a bit of customization
You want dyeable outfits, there are outfits for 16,30 €, make yourself happy.

Thats a pretty weird answer considering the NPC items and the item you get from the mog station aren't even the same item.In ye olden times, Yoshida or one of the Devs said, back in ARR, that they can't make something undyeable dyeable, that a dyeable version would have to be a completely new item because of the item data flags or some such. It sucks that they seem incapable of addressing whatever roadblocks exist to make a formerly undeyable piece dyeable. The NPC one isn't even a onesie, at least not for Lyse.
Jesus, this might be one the most pointless posts I've ever seen on this thread lol. And they adapted it to fit Roes and Lalas, the two races that obviously don't fit the standard models (or any of the NPC races iirc, except Krile and Papy).
Btw, I'm not that new-new. I rejoined the game recently but I first joined in 2015. But go on lol
Also, I have dyable mogstation outfits, thanks. It doesn't mean I can't be disappointed that they've made another undyable outfit in 2022.![]()

Right? Is not like it's an item with an id, only available for NPCs, that can be found on Garlandtools or other database websites... They have not just to turn it into an actual item with the ID and all, but also model the item for all the other races that is not the original NPC's.
I don't believe that mapping a dye channel into a 3D model is that much of a work undertaking to be honest. And let's be real... if that statement is true, they are going over that process numerous times, given we often get recycled items that couldn't be dyed before.
Uh, what this has to do with the issue? Other outfits being dyeable won't change the fact that Lyse's outfit is the one I want, but in a different color. Different items.
This is like you going into a store for a t-shirt and the sales person trying to convince you to buy a dress because they don't have the t-shirt in the color you like.
