As someone who wants to get a house whether you don't have one or really want to try and move to a new location, how does looking at this sort of competition make you feel?

This is from a really popular server that many are NOT going to transfer out of. That's at least 300 upset people who are struggling from that plot alone. You also only get to bid on one house so once you bid you're stuck with that bid. Bid on the wrong plot? Found another plot you'd prefer to bid on? You're stuck. You also don't get your Gil back until the deadline so even if you want to quit you can't until then.

Some servers don't have this issue with FC as they mostly have this issue with personals. Cause atm there are only like what... 8 personal wards? While FC has 18. This is a bigger issue still for personal because even those in an FC are going to want their own personal houses. That's a lot more players out there than plots altogether. Thankfully there will be 10 extra wards in each district soon along with possibly getting our own houses on a private island. But there's also not much spoken about it leaving many confused, clueless, and possibly even upset while they deal and struggle with the housing system we have now. Is this a real personal housing fix? Not a clue! But if it was, why didn't they just release this with Empyrium so not many hog up the wards? Can you imagine how many less upset and disappointed people there be for losing a bid? "It's ok, I don't need to bid on a house in a ward area because I have a house on an island my friends can come to." Would of been nice!

Thankfully this new bidding helps us fight the bots who camp and keep us from having to sit and click HOURS and HOURS on end, maybe even for a whole day but now you must wait 5 days which is FAR longer than we need to be waiting for and causing mental stress for those with high anxiety like me. It's not something I would call 'relaxing' and it's silly to think "Yeah, I can't have this because it's SO SUPER LIMITED and EVERYONE WANTS IT" in a digital world inside a game. So during these bids, I have to stop playing FF or find something to distract myself strongly enough so I don't stress and think about it. Also, I felt my odds were much better spending a whole day clicking on a placard against 30-40 people rather than waiting 5 days against 300+ people.

In the 6.1 release with Empyrium, I had people stand in front of placards and act very toxic just for walking up to the placard and seeing how well the bids were going so they can 'guard' it. So this is just encouraging people to be aggressive, unhappy, uncomfortable, and stressed. The only thing that's enjoyable is IF you win. That's when you can FINALLY relax and be happy. But until then you are faced with a lot of the opposite for what can be a year or more.

This isn't fun like how a videogame should feel.

This is a very broken system altogether. What's my solution?
REMOVE WARDS AND GIVE US OUR OWN ZONES!!

We don't need neighbors we're never going to visit. We're a bunch of antisocial nerds in a digital world. You can't expect us to care and if we do it will be a very rare occasion. Allow me to have my own land to decorate and hang out with my FC members and if we're going to have neighbors, why not have it as fellow FC members?

Personally, IDC. Just remove the competition for a limited housing system. We all want a house. . . we all want our own home. We all want to decorate a place. We shouldn't be stressing over this or competing so strongly for a digital home.
It makes sense to compete for loot in dungeons cause it keeps us coming back for more but why limit the houses? Trying to get a house in this game isn't something I call fun. . . it's stressful, upsetting, and growing to become unsettling.

Make this fun. . . let us EARN a bigger house by doing our own thing. Not because it happened to be available and I manage to get lucky against 300 people. Again, this is supposed to be a fun game. . .



So we can sit back and say "SE won't do anything" or we can get together and say something to express how unhappy we are because we are their paying customers and I don't think it's right to pay for something that's going to stress people out or make us unhappy.

I also want to point out one more issues with this housing that causes stress and anxiety. The fact you can LOSE this plot by not going inside it within a month is even MORE stressful. It's hard enough to get it, then it's a mission to KEEP it.

A friend of mine lost their personal cause they were too focus on RL issues that were far more important than a videogame. Why is this punishment considered ok? How many more people are going to be upset with this housing system?

That's fair but it's also just a bandaid still. Because as nice as an apt is, people STILL want their own house for reasons I'm sure you understand.

The problem has never been how you get a house, it has always been the artificially limited supply combined with enforced gameplay access inequality.

Keep the wards for those that like them, but yeah no, we need personal instanced plots of land that can be fully customized and upgraded that we can invite people to or can be explored through a menu, or else we're just going to keep stacking bandaids.
Just.. Everyone gets access to the same template of land and house, and the same list of upgrades. How much you're allowed to engage with the content is defined by your own investment in it and nothing else, just like the rest of the game (to an extent, rip exploratory content, you were not designed with longevity in mind). It could serve as a WELLLLL needed gil sink (upgrades should have an upfront gil cost, not just trading it around between players like with most current house customizations) It would be NICE if those plots could be designed to be modular so that you could OPT to link them with your friends, but I'm less concerned with that feature than I am the rest of it.
