I absolutely despise pvp. But my son drags me into frontline when we are doing roulettes. I am always in last place in every category. All that ever happens to me is I get stunned and die in 2 seconds, rinse and repeat for the whole battleground. It not the least bit fun.

But that's my experience, I'm glad so many enjoy it, I just don't enjoy it at all.

Ultimates aren't chaotic. They're essentially synchronized dances that you memorize

Crystalline Conflict? Yes. It's fast paced and decently enjoyable. If you're going to lose, at least it's fast.

Frontlines? It's just a Fuster Cluck. Not enjoyable at all. 20-30m of pure hell.

Veteran healers don't care if we need to heal, but right now we don't. We want interesting things to do during the downtime other than a 30s dot and a single filler spell that hasn't changed from lvl 4 to lvl 90.
Dead DPS do no DPS. Raised DPS do 25/50% lower DPS. Do the mechanics and don't stand in bad stuff.
Other games expect basic competence, FFXIV is pleasantly surprised by it. Other games have toxic elitism. FFXIV has toxic casualism.[/LIST]

They should reduce the number of players to 12 or less. I am sure 8 players now do more damage then 24 players did before. Would also mean individual performance would have greater impact. Map size would create more small fight scenarios since harder for 12 people to cover what 24 did before. I might even be willing to go all the way down to 8.

Yes i enjoy pvp really much. To be fair it is wacky af but balancing was always an issue in every mmo that has pvp.

But seriously i like how frontlines are just a giant battlefield now where bahamuts nuke entire alliances and dragoons dive from the skies to impale poor dancers and scholars conducting biological warfare. Ofc only a few jobs are viable in frontlines, aoes are overpowered. But it is still really fun tho i would like to see 1vs1 frontlines not the 3 faction pvp anymore...

CC is also really awesome tho it has some flaws for me, matchmaking is a bit strange and the game isn't punishing enough towards players who don't participate. Also some jobs need a buff...mch just having a 37k potency lb while dragoon deals the same amount if not more when buffed as aoe damage is just a joke. But then SE really hates mch so it was expected. Also fun is murdering whole teams with a ninja, just try it out you never want to pvp as a different job after that.

I wish the people who afk and/or do <50k dmg during an entire match get a ban from ranked. It's so boring to be doing 90% of your entire teams damage and matching with those same people later and just knowing you are doomed because they refuse to push any buttons.
The amount of people who struggle to hit even 200k damage in an extended match is sad. Why the hell they queue ranked? To torment me I am sure.

It's the only truly dynamic aspect of the game since every match is unique. It is far from perfect but has a certain charm to it, so it's one of the things keeping me around these days.

Dynamism is really the key. XIV does dance fights well, but even doing that well gets dull after long enough. I never knew what I'd have to adjust to or compensate for when pulling a WoW boss, which really helped the tedium of prog. Not so in XIV. This game just doesn't have much room for variety between pulls; mistakes usually kill everybody, and the fights themselves are rote. Worse, class designs are being slowly but steadily homogenized to make them all work equally well against all bosses.

PvP is the complete opposite and I love it for being that way. Human opposition is unpredictable and classes are wildly different, with your play having to constantly change both moment-to-moment and game-to-game because of it. My only complaints are the terrible servers and the utterly absurd BLM overbuff.
