I'm already very close to just ditching the game.

I'd just move to the next MMO that doesn't have 'em or wait and see if people would break the tos like on other MMOs and set up some third party... alternative place to play.

Not that I would encourage anyone to do so. It'd be a good way to get in trouble.

If they added NFTs and they provided some sort of advantage or a "better" XIV experience, I would quit.
If they added them and they didn't really effect the game, then I'd probably stay but would probably list it as a reason if/when I do leave over some of the other issues that don't get addressed (plus boredom).

Sounds like RMT with an SE stamp to me. It would be the death of an MMO like this. Imagine what you could sell on the chain for quick cash:
-You could sell rare Triple Triad Card
-You could sell Ultimate Raid drops
-You could sell housing plots
-Mounts
-Minions
-Crafted items

For me Endwalker would have been where the game ended and I would drop sub. Wont be immediately since I pay my sub in 6 month installments.

Adding the optional cash store to the game client is the first as that just makes it more visible/accessible. Next up would be an FFXIV Token like the WoW Token so players can either buy Gil or spend their Gil for subscription/store credit (to buy cash store items).

I wouldn't quit if they did either of the things above. NFT and Blockchain stuff just has a much harder path to add into this game whereas they can do what other MMOs have already done if they wanted to milk the game for more money.

I would but there are so many people for rally for a company of all things for my money not to matter. At this point i'm treating XIV as another WoW/EQ2/EQoA, just enjoying it until they cross that line and then I move on, simple as that. No need to lament for rotting IPs, your sanity will thank you, lol.

no to the token in so many ways. THAT would make me quit playing.

although if the banned Titan and all alts for life, I may reconsider whatever they added to the game....

The only language Square Enix understands is Money.

If Square Enix want's to commit financial seppuku and force NFTs upon this game then I would drop my sub in a heartbeat.

My only regret is all of the talent of Creative Business Unit III will be put to waste. Ah well.

I understood that NFTs meant to be uniquely owned... It would be pretty hard to make that work with the structure of XIV nowadays, because it would mean they would design mogstation items to one (or a limited?) number of owners. Can you imagine having a number of armor sets downloaded to your client but only 1 person can be seen using it?

Unless I'm misunderstanding this thing by a stretch...
