Adding a "tax" to housing would make it so that only the richest players (or people that can gather/craft the expensive stuff!) will be able to own them. And bots.. So you'd be giving all the plots to Bots. Kudos to you.
Happens when half the housing threads are in general. Sub fee is not decreasing the demand as everyone pays it. Bots are always gonna be in the game, doesn't change stuff much.

Also taxes would make it harder for players to hoard multiple houses (even whole wards) which has been ongoing issue for long time.

If they added a tax to housing, what would it accomplish? It would probably alienate more people from the game and anger a larger portion of the player base because now people with houses are being retroactively punished for having a house and new players are going to be even more punished over wanting a house.
It would be great if SE could fix the supply but clearly that's not likely from them. Players would not be happy about it, I noted that, but it would allow larger number of players to touch the housing briefly before realising the upkeep work is not worth having a single player house. It may seem like a punishment but it is not.

The main reason why the Party Finder is not working for the harder content and so many groups disband after few wipes is caused by the players who ignore the comments.

Getting to the phase XYZ once does not mean you are ready to join parties to do XYZ.

Parties should spend most of the time doing the phase that is written in the comment not trying to get there.
