At least in that game as long as it wasn't a character card you could just find one in the wild and turn it into a card. Otherwise just be careful to not spread the wacky and terrible rules between regions and you can pretty much destroy anyone....with save scumming a bit.

Killing the NPC and looting it's corpse should be an option after the 30th attempt. I don't care if it's "illegal" I am the WOL who saved the planet and friends with every government leader. Yeah the drop rate on some of those cards is rather sucky. But RNG in this game can be that way. It is based on VIII and VIII was like that a lot, but it could use some streamlining here. Though at least it's good we can't spread bad rules around. They use Random too much, though.

I am missing the Sophia card.

Last time I tried to farm it, I organized an Ex run. We had people farming mounts, people farming the card along with me, and even people farming the BLU spell. (Figured out how to get them the exposure they needed to that without the risk of wiping to the second set of scales, so that was neat.)

We killed it 20 times in a row. Every other person in the farm party got their stuff, except me.
