Apartments should have the same size as a Cottage/ Small- Apartments should also be allowed a garden plot - The reason why is because not everyone will get a house to use a garden and not everyone can use their FC's garden or wants to join an FC
tl;dr - apartment item increase to 200 + personal garden plot (basically give apartments house perks)
Cottage/ Small - 300 item increase
Medium- 400 item increase
Large- 500 item increase

I have no problem with that, when it comes to inside housing.
It's a personal area, so you should be able to populate it for gaming PCs and lock the door to people on potatos and PS4s.
If you wan to be public, or have people who are friends playing on PS4, then don't pack it the rafters with polygons to be kind to them. But if none of your friends are PS4 peasants then the polygons don't particularly matter as much.
(edit: PS4 was released in 2013... it's about time people who play on this 'ye olde vintage era equipment' punt it out of the window, so the rest of us can progress.)

I'm normally a lurker, but I logged in just to say this.
You do realize we're still healing from a global pandemic, right? You do realize that many people lost their real houses, and many others came close, right? Apparently you don't realize how much the average person is hurting right now, because "blow $500 on a new piece of hardware so I can put more polygons in my digital house or stop playing the game, peasant" has got to be the most entitled, privileged, tone deaf thing I have heard on this forum in a long time, and that is saying a lot.
And before I hear "well then don't spend money on a game" where else are you going to get an entire month's worth of entertainment for $13? I will cancel every streaming service, outing, etc, I have before canceling XIV, because it provides the most psychological benefit per dollar of anything I spend money on that's not food and shelter.

Inside someone's house is their personal space. If one wants to trade away PS4 compatibility inside your own house to get more polygons, and the devs allowed it of course, why shouldn't one be able to? As I mentioned if others want to make a public space, or play on that decade old equipment themselves, then they simply stay within the old limits.
PS4 has a clear limit, inside a person's house is the ONE place in the game the owner of the space can and should be able to decide to adhere to the limit or not. Make a space PS4 friendly and simply stick to the existing Large=400 object maximum. Make your personal space, inside your own home, not PS4 friendly and get 800 or more objects instead.
YoshiP has already stated that PS4 support will extend through at least 7.0. If it is PS4 that is holding things back, they can't increase limits if that's going to result in client crashes for players visiting houses taking advantage of those higher limits.Inside someone's house is their personal space. There's always a chance it's not PS4 at all but some of the older PC hardware that is still supported and we know that PC system requirements will be increased for 7.0. Perhaps that's when we can finally see an increase to item limits.
Lets hope we get more than just an item-limit increase in 7.0. Like more wards. Maybe new districts.
Heck, maybe even Upgradable Plots and them finally following through with making apartments upgradable?
Yes, this is a pipedream and yes, I am being partially sarcastic. But if it happens, I will be pleasantly surprised.
