Island Sanctuaries might not be instanced housing, simmer your hopes

I don't know why everyone keeps running with this idea that Island Sanctuaries will definitely be instanced housing, but we need to stop assuming things until we have more information.

I'm honestly scared of what will happen if that ends up coming out to not be the case, and the fanbase inevitably melts down when it could have been prevented in the first place. It's one thing to be mad that instanced housing does not yet exist, but to go with a running rumor that has no basis, act like it will be true, and then be let down like the devs did something wrong is also pretty bad. It's their fault for the way housing is, but if the development in instanced housing was never a factor for Island Sanctuary in the first place, we will be getting our hopes up, and falsely directing our anger where it doesn't belong.

If Island Sanctuary does not have instanced housing, DO continue to make threads asking for instanced housing.

Don't knock out Island Sanctuaries if the rest of the content is good. Gardening might be fun, especially if it eliminates the need to have a house to participate. We need all of the housing specific features to not be dependent on a plot of land. It isn't fair to the rest of the community that wants to participate in airships,gardening, etc. I'd rather this not end up completely abandoned like other features.

DO NOT bash the devs, and act like its completely their fault that we got our hopes up, when the whole instanced housing rumor for the content was nothing but a rumor based on fan wishes in the first place.

You can definitely ask that they add housing to the island sanctuary.

I suspect that Island Sanctuaries are nothing more than a bandaid created to deal with the fact that far too many players who want houses, will never get them and thus would have otherwise been locked out of growing crops. This is really just a clumsy attempt to sidestep the housing issue.

No the Fc wards have most of the mansion plots taken and yes all the other stuff is empty. I just wanted to say before you transfer, don't expect to get a mansion on OCE.

People are hoping that Island Sanctuaries will have some kind of housing are using that as copium for something that can only be described as abject failure: the current housing system. The way they added Ishgard housing made it even more impossible for the average player to get a house by artificially restricting each housing district to have only 6 wards for players. If I look at Ishgard right now I see most plots are gone (you can bet that those will be gone with the next lotto cycle) while the FC are mostly empty.

The people I've talked to have either given up completely or are hoping for some kind of housing in the Sanctuaries. I wouldn't blame them, esp. as the devs are so completely incommunicado on that topic or the whole housing mess.

Well, what is island sanctuary? I wish we more concrete informations on what it is than what it isnt.
