    I don't think you even need a tank. Optimal group composition is probably "at least one healer, and no more than two total of any combination of tanks and healers." SGE excluded, healers generally lack sustained DPS worth a crap so having more than two really hurts your ability to secure kills. Tanks don't actually have much in the way of support skills anymore (pretty much it's just TBN and Guardian/Phalanx), so you actually kind of *do* need a healer if the enemy team has one since they're the classes with all the defensive buffs and bits of sustain.

    I don't think we even really need role-sensitive queues. What we need, instead, is the ability to fucking change classes during match setup and some quickchat commands like "We need a healer please!" etc. I honestly don't understand why we can't change classes during match setup, especially since there's no role-queuing for the mode. It would solve so many issues. Oh, I got a team with 2 other healers? No problem, I'll swap to NIN or MNK. I guess maybe it's because they limit teams to only one of each class?

    WAR being a great support tank aside - the godmode on DK and PLD offer a noob security - it's not that they're so much of a damage threat but you can literally wipe their whole team and they just afk the crystal with bubble, godmode, def cds and heal and the whole team will be up again before you take them down. They're just really fucking boring to play against in their current design, DK more than PLD because they're also threating the crystal range with it.

    Also to combat role queue they introduced a "everybody has everything" kit, unfortunately to make people not feel alienated from their job they made some job mixbreeds such as healers but they balanced all shit for the global set. If you now have 2 healers and a job that increases healing it's almost impossible to kill somebody without full arranged focus and that just doesn't fucking work in a random queue.

    So every second game feels like praying to god that your team accidentally focus the correct target and finally when you do the tank just pops all his shit and the respawn is back. It's so unbearable, they should have just made every class damage if they're so lazy to take properly care of comps.

    Yeah, pretty much. The flipside is that you have tons of sustain but no damage so it takes forever to kill anything - in both cases you need people to actually coordinate and focus the targets being called out, but no one seems to do that... Apparently "target the one without any MP left" is a difficult concept to grasp.
