I think it would be cool if New Game+ let you choose a different "starter" area

The two things I wanted out of new game +

1. Explore the other 2 game start cities
2. Get the achievements for the other 2 starting cities.

Ah, I wasn't even aware there were achievements associated!

That makes an even more compelling argument for looking into this as an option. Like I said, I'm kind of a perfectionist anyways, so I'd love just being able to "unlock ALL cutscenes". But also, yeah it's kind of a bummer when I believe it was towards the end of Endwalker (when you're having dinner with the three scions), they make another reference to "where you started". And I found myself wishing I could change to have started in Limsa Lominsa, instead.

I don't know that it can be done. The first quest you get on starting the game is a side quest, not msq.

If you could pick a new starter area...it's not really a starter area anymore.

For those wondering. The ONLY "Achievement" that is based on your starting city is:

The <City> Envoy

There is not real method to get this for all three cities. In fact, there isn't any way to get any achievements via New Game+, since it covers everything you've already done, or you skipped using the MSQ/Job skip option.
