I came over from WoW. It could be that Shadowlands was so horrible, that I feel spoiled by XIV. Sure, this game could use some work, but to me, it's definately not a bad game.

I admit I came off a bit rough there.
Just, I think we all end up at that point where we step into a game that doesn't turn out the way we wished it ended up. FFXIV mostly breaks when the system gets put under stress and people end up playing it for a long period. Not sure if anyone else noticed this but it always feels like when a company tries hard to perfect what was done before, like with WoW and how it kept iterating until it hit whatever it is now, it loses a little something along the way.
The end game in this game doesn't really matter all that much because of how it got implemented. Housing was a good idea but the limitations on server real-estate apparently stop it from being a main feature, so we have to deal with a lotto system. Savage is a good idea that seems to always start off strong and then end kind of painfully. The average joe playing the game doesn't necessarily want to be a challenge runner, but they do want to have something that lets them enjoy being good at a particular role or job.
This game like many others has pros and cons to it. Nothing will ever be 100% perfect but we can leave feedback and hope for changes.
I think FF14 is an awesome game and I am glad I came over to it. But you can love something and still recognize that there are serious issues with the thing you love. Doesn't invalidate your love for the game nor does it invalidate how much these issues bother you. Hell, it probably bothers you because you love the game so much.

The entire Community is highly allergic to changes and suggestions in regards to Gameplay suggestions. Tell one suggestion on improvements in detail, and all you get told is to go touch sone Grass and take a break from FFXIV.

I feel like there would be less complaints if it were a single player game where everything has been made already and is finite.
Due to the nature of the game though and everything slowly coming out in pieces people are too thirsty for the next thing and get mad.

Overall the game is fantastic with amazing bosses (mechanics), story, characters and probably the most amazing collection of music in any video game.
It doesn't matter to you.For some reason, I feel like someone needs to say this amongst the deluge of random threads complaining about literally every slight the game has because they hit end game and have nothing left but the grindy parts.
The truth is that housing doesn't matter and savage doesn't matter. Heck, crafting technically doesn't matter (unless you actually keep up with the grinding and make your own leveling gear). Someone can just play the entire game through and then put it down after the latest normal content is done.
Like out of all the threads posted about issues, the only one that really feels like it could be a valid point is the one with the healers because you feel the healer issues going through the entire game and not just end game.

I would assume having gainful employment in one of the largest video game conglomerates in the world is proof that XIV is at least okay. Not sure why that has to be said, lol.
