I actually do like the idea of a character travelling between the shards, and absorbing thier soul counterparts to become progressively more powerful. I just think it should be a villian instead of the WoL.

Bonus points if the last person they target happens to be one of the scions, and we have to protect our friend from an super-powerful murderous alternate version of say - Thancred or someone.

They'd be, what, 5/14 at best before coming for an 8/14 Scion (or 9 in G'raha's case)? Plus, if we killed them there'd be no reason for whoever the target was to not become unsundered at that point. Maybe if the writers had the stones to do anything 'bad' with the Scions they could become a new unsundered adversary, but given their track record I don't see that happening.

Ok, maybe I’m stupid, but how exactly could Azem travel to the future/present and us still exist? Or at least still exist in that timeline where Azem does that.

If post-sundering Azem is us, then they would likely need to time travel forward to a point in time just before the story starts (i.e. they end up in a swamp in front of a Morbol as per the 1.0 cutscene). If post-sundering Azem isn't us, then they live out their days, die of old age, and pass on their soul through a generation or two until we inherit it.

I could honestly see one of the remaining sundered Ascians resorting to such measures.

If they can't complete the rejoinings, perhaps completion of one's self would be viewed as the next best thing in their eyes.

Would be a bit weird to frame this as a villainous thing tbh. Like yes, don’t try to repair yourself and undo a calamity even though that’s the very thing the heroes have done time and time again lmao.

I’m kinda hoping in the future we get a sundered Ascian as a buddy. One who isn’t evil - but just kinda untethered and sassy (but with no interest in rejoining).

If we are opening up the world for exploration, it would be nice to move away from the Scions for a little while. Give us a more varied group to run around with. Maybe a less powerful Ascian who just wants a decent cup of coffee, a couple cute but troublesome Auspices with a get rich quick scheme, a grown up Ga Bu, Dulia Chai off on her own cross shard adventure, the actual Master Matoya and one of her little frog guys, the Wolf Burglar, a dragon that is not a creepy little boy, and a studious Spriggan working their way through college from Sharlayan.

I’d be fine if we threw Krile, Alisaie, and maybe a few less seen buddies like Hien, Tansui, Fran, Meryall, or Brayflox into the mix as well.

This is something i was really hoping for with EW, it would’ve been the most opportune time for it. An ascian or two that doesn’t agree with Fandaniel and wants to help keep him away from Zodiark would’ve been really compelling, especially because then we could see some actual difference of opinion and ways of thinking as opposed to the scions who all just unanimously agree with one another and never argue. It’s one of the reasons i miss HW so much, Ysayle,Estinien,and Alphinaud all arguing made everything feel more realistic and also less boring.

This is something i was really hoping for with EW, it would’ve been the most opportune time for it. Hopefully with EW over(ish) we can put some of the Scions up on a shelf for a little while - or at least by the time we get to 7.0 and are off on a new adventure. I get the feeling we won’t see any of them fully untangle from the MSQ - but perhaps our WOL will get a new group of more varied and fun people to hang out with.
