Thavnairian lore would have fit it perfectly, although that's not a limitation as Dancer was released before Thavnair. My worry now is that if we do ever see Chemist/Salve-Maker, it's going to end up being brought in as a ranged dps, because they seem averse to non-caster healers for some reason.

I think that we probably will see more of Garlean territory before moving south to Meracydia. It just wouldn't have made sense before Endwalker, as Garlemald itself was just a puppet dictatorship under Emet's thumb, and it wouldn't carry the same impact immediately after Amaurot.

Considering the part that Emet emphasis on the new civilizations we will go to in Season 2 may surprise us by how they progressed, I won't be surprised if Chemist ends up a new job originating from one of those civilizations.

Exposing lies to bring the truth to light has long been a clear goal of our character (unless it has anything to do with Hydaelyn's genocide, the treachery at the end of the Autumn War and now Gaius van Baelsar's innocence it seems!)

All that aside, I do hope we see some manner of reconstruction effort established for the people of Garlemald. They've long been the true victims of the setting in my eyes, after all - for they suffered the most as a consequence of the Sundering given their inability to manipulate aether ordinarily, the horrific attempts to inflict genocide upon them during their days as peaceful farmers and then an era of prosperity turning out to merely be a matter of Ascian manipulation.

Leaving them to linger in the frozen ruins of Garlemald or fend for themselves upon the moon does not strike me as the end of their story, especially with Jullus serving as a future plot hook for more of the Garlean story going forward.
Ignoring your unique brand of interpreting the story how do you propose The WoL, the person hated by the empire and her people walk into Garlemald and convince the people, who hate us that a defector didn't kill their ruler?

Yeah, we are uniquely UNqualified to convince anyone in Garlemald of anything about Garlemald. In fact, we kinda do absolutely nothing on that front, you can make a serious argument that the WoL caused more problems than they solved in Garlemald until we hit the Tower of Babil.

this is kind of a weird example since the outcome of this was "oh yeah we didn't tell anyone don't worry G"

I feel the story would've been more complete if they did a Garlemald expansion before Endwalker but it would've been a "grounded" expansion like Stormblood and i think that's why they didn't do it because Stormblood is the least rated expansion.

What problems would those be. They were on the verge of freezing to death when we got there. Instead of taking the help that was offered they decied to use their last bit of fuel to launch a futile attack. Self inflicted wounds aren't our problem and Gauis being there would have made it worse.

Add to that the fact that Thavnair already has us meet a bunch of alchemists that even now still wear healing gear, and that you might not have even had to rewrite much of Sage's story to swap it between being for Sage or Chemist, and it overall leads me to believe that our AU Endwalker Chemist storyline would've been focused a little further south than Garlemald.
I was thinking that, at first, but putting it in Garlemald could have had a story that rivaled the Dark Knight storyline.

I'll give healer a try up until level 100. If I do not like it, I'm off the role, entirely.

Expecting a Garlean settlement in Corvus, personally. Their infrastructure in the capitol and the surrounding area is decimated, even with the improvements made to Broken Glass (or w/e that town’s real name was, I forget). Surviving in that area is a losing prospect. So I expect them to either resettle to another area/town in Garlemald(accessible via the gate down the road from Broken Glass, probably) or to give us a storyline where a large faction of survivors, and probably a remaining legion(the Xth?), decides to leave the mountains and resettle in Corvus on “ancestral homeland(and also it’s actually livable here)” grounds. Likely an MSQ topic where, along with the contingent, we’d be part of navigating that “post-colonization by bad guys” craziness for all parties and trying to bring about a peaceful status quo. And we’ll maybe get a Doman enclave style area to build up.

I really hope they're not going to let this whole moral argument of "who deserves to live in Corvos" just blow over with the non-Garlean rebel faction getting to have the run of the place with no objections from anyone.

With it being the initial reason the Garleans even started their campaign of conquest, I don't think the remaining legions would want to allow its reclamation by the "savages" slide.

Ideally, I'm hoping we go over there but with the intent of making an arrangement where Garleans and the other races can dwell there in unity, though likely not without convincing parties on both sides of things to see reason.
