If you genuinely think there is ANY opinion about this game that is unanimous, you're wrong. Unanimous in YOUR PERSONAL EXTREMELY LIMITED VIEWPOINT, maybe. But unanimous overall? No.
Which begs the question - if JP thinks the state of the game is because they listen to NA/EU and not JP, and NA/EU thinks the state of the game is because they listen to JP and not NA/EU... who are these changes for?
While I do realize they would give JP priority....(its very wrong but... I get it), I think it would be nice to hear more from our own community staff on a regular basis.
Maybe a quick weekly or even monthly post disclosing what (if anything) they have forwarded to head office and why they chose the specific items.
I understand that SE may not take what we suggest to heart, BUT it would be nice to finally know if anything is ever forwarded to them.
(realistically, its not like Yoshi is sitting in HQ getting someone to translate this forum to him daily...orrrr ever!)
There's no way he could know much of anything unless our own team contacts /sends in reports etc.
IF they do, we need to know about it every time, that alone would help with at least some animosity from the forums.
Some of us feel ignored (for years) cause tbh, we are ,and it cant be shown otherwise. Sadly I don't believe anything is ever mentioned to SE, which is absolutely not a good move.![]()
♥ MORE HIGH HEELS + INSTANCED HOUSING! ♥!
I don't know what proof people are using to say that the Final Fantasy XIV team doesn't listen to feedback from the community, but they do have some challenges with providing feedback during the rougher periods between patches. The NA forums are sort of an FFA experience with multiple threads sometimes on the same subject, trolling threads that go no where, and stuff that the team probably knows about already and doesn't feel the need to provide feedback on. Not to mention most subjects that are relevant often get hijacked by people who are more about talking about their own problems, like trying to make a thread about ideas for mid-core content and then having someone come in and start complaining how they have issues playing a specific job because of hot bar issues.
The painful truth is that the vast majority of people just don't provide very good feedback. They get wrapped up in emotions or don't think their statements all the way through, and view forum posts as a way to vent their frustrations. Of course the development team isn't going to provide any feedback if they can't find anything of worth to provide feedback to in all the filth that piles up regularly. And yes, everyone is guilty of making posts that provide no useful information. We all do it at some point and there's not really anything wrong with doing so, but if everyone does so regularly, it quickly makes the line of communication unusable for anything other than catharsis or self rumination.

I think feedback is heard, I just think its being cherry picked.
Hard topics are ignored unless it blows up outside of the forums. Even then, a band-aid is used when really, they needed stiches or even staples to close the gap.
Early days, this forum used to get pretty regular community rep comments. I can't think of the last major thread that got a comment (someone feel free to provide this info if you have it) but it definitely feels like any criticism that a group of people have is ignored and just left to the "FFXIV can do no wrong" crowed to handle.
Part of the problem was things would change, as happens in development, but people would riot.I think feedback is heard, I just think its being cherry picked.

See some people's signatures that they still haven't edited almost a decade later from things that were changed after announced.
Okay. Enjoy being objectively wrong. I tire of arguing with absolute monkeys who force their narrow perspective on others. Proud of ignorance. It takes a special breed, so you can embrace that.
All it takes a stroll in the SAM thread, the tank voices in their forums, or the megathread with healers. Or the megathread with Hroth. Or the megathread with Viera. Or the megathread with housing. Or the megathread with-
Are you doing this on purpose? This is why I hate the community now.
Pointless hair split for the purpose of saving face. Be more subtle. Also, I wouldn't use such spicy contexts for this.

Just because they don't act on what peoples ask doesn't necessarily mean they don't listen, it could just also mean they don't think it's a good choice.
Hundred of up votes on the forum or else where don't mean much compare to the data they have access from millions of peoples playing the game.
