if Lydha Lran was generally themed like a catholic cathedral and then suddenly had candy everywhere, you'd have a point. I dont particularly mind Lydha Lran because its all supposed to be that one flavor of sickeningly candy sweet. Ishgard is supposed to have a certain vibe to it and the candy bullshit detracts from it and makes any house using it look terrible, along with their neighbors house now look worse because they are beside the house of someone who thinks vomit is a good color scheme.

I've been eyeballing a beautiful spot in the lav beds, but there is a shirogane house by the plot which kills that pretty cottage forest vibe that all of the other houses have- so, if I can get that spot, just to annoy the person in the shirogane house, I'm going to use my paissa walls or the candy walls & use a large, bright item to tower over their trees so it ruins any screens they want to take.

It's petty, but in the end it's on the devs that have made housing so horrible in every aspect, so we might as well have fun.
