A fair opinion, although IMHO Death Report is pretty firmly in the QoL camp (It's basically giving you quick access to whatever killed someone rather than having to dig through a spammy combat log), the stuff it comes bundled with isn't.

Gonna have to disagree since THIS particular death report does more than say the overlay one that's based off another overlay. This one is being WAY more specific. Not to mention since we don't see it - the Timeline is usually used in cactbot. Various Telegraphs and call outs. Far more than just regular ACT triggers you can program yourself. This is most likely why it gets SUPER dangerous, and why the TOS is vague.

You update the TOS and mention Cactbot (all of it or parts of it?) then someone comes out with Bototender or some side app that makes small adjustments. So I get it - sucks but blanket ban.

Would it be nice to have a window that shows stuff from the battle log for a death? I think that IS a QOL feature - but not the way Cactbot does it- (which is probably the problem SE has with it).

This still doesn't explain the very specific timing and window in which all of this happened though? It just doesn't make sense if you look at it from SE's perspective. Why would they pull the pin on this sort of action right after the race is won and interest in the streams is effectively over?

I mean yeah but that's pretty much about EVERY TOS ever that people sign up for regardless of game/software or community. And since people have a general dislike for policing, because something feels unfair, and nitpick everything to show how it's unfair...well that's the way it is. I don't see this outrage different from other places that due have vague TOS. It's the same. But sure people can point out to Terms that are COMPLETELY FAIR and see if there's not a segment of population of users that would agree othewise.

QoL seems to be synonymous with 'Against ToS' because of the low effort that seems to be going into the game from the devs side.

Pretty sure the whole thing stems from the Unfair Competition Prevention Law that hit Japan in either late 2017 or early 2018. The penalty for breaking that law is surprisingly hefty when its enforced (which, I don't live in Japan so I can't say how enforced it is or isn't). But it is an actual Law that exists in Japan that a company operating from that country would need to follow.

If that law would be the case, why arent there more bans? I'm certain almost everyone and their mother has been using voldemorts during the race to worlds first. I refuse to believe the ban of 1 streamer happened in a vacuum
