if you want to PvP without Quick Chat then all you need to do is build a time machine and go back to when Feast was first released and see first hand how much of a toxic cesspool chat was

Also there was a team mode for Feast (you can still see the remnants of it in the Wolves Den) but I don't think it got anywhere near as much engagement as the solo queues. Believe it or not they once dreamed of having the Feast become an actual Esport. The fact that they haven't removed the team NPC altogether might mean they still have plans for a Team mode for CC in the works but I think community reception would still be lukewarm at best with how much rampant cheating still occurs in solo queues. Going up against one cheater in team of randoms is still winnable. Going up against a team of ppl exploiting cheats together though...

and final thought on the premise of conflicting design choices I do think there is an actual argument to be had in regards to the implementation of duty support throughout the entire game and the over assignment of FC wards. Based on their roadmap they've committed resources and dev time to ensure that the entire game can be played solo because apparently there are enough ppl playing the game solo to warrant that. So if they're doubling down time and energy to make this more of a single player game then why the bullheadedness about trying to bandaid the community feature of neighborhood housing wards. Just scrap them altogether and make instanced housing already that would be accessible to any and all of the solo players they're designing a single player game for
